I saw this denim shirt in the store and fell in love. The craftsmanship is done very well, however, I agree with some of the previous reviews that it does run large. I am 5'6'', about 120lbs and normally wear a small or extra small in FP clothing. The small was actually kind of big so I downsized to the XS, the shoulders fit where they should but the rest of it is still roomy- you can tell from the back shot of the model, not as shown in the frontal view picture(must have been pinned back). I still loved the shirt and bought it, but beware that it will not be as form fitting as seen on the model.

I completely, 100% concur with the previous reviewer who mentioned sizing down to pretty much your ultimate limit if you want this shirt to fit you as it does the model. Due to the reviewer's recommendation I tried on the XS in-store and it was really flattering -- since I'm short and love Victorian/prairie styles I have to be really picky about making oversized items work for me so the look reads "bohemian" and not "sister wife". So the XS really worked out positively for me in this respect. The only thing that wasn't perfect was that the upper arms were a little tight (that has more to do with my build than the cut of the shirt), but as I continued wearing this top while trying on a pile of different pants, I felt them become more comfy just from the act of wearing the top for a few minutes in the dressing room. I don't think that any minor snugness would really be much of a problem going forward with this shirt, especially because the fabric is more of a thin denim with a lot of give to it. HOWEVER, just to be certain I wouldn't regret my decision, I tried on the S. The main difference I noticed in the bigger size was the roomier upper arms, but the lower arms were a little baggy and unflattering even when cuffed; also, the placket hit a bit lower and the body was looser in general. It wasn't like the difference was extreme (I think my usual M would have been extreme!) but it was enough for me to stick with the XS. As for the style of this shirt -- it is beyond reproach for me. The pintucks and the velvet binding are as darling and romantic as the photos show, and the dark indigo colour made my grey-green eyes look almost blue -- so it was totally a home run. I recommend it highly, but try on in-store or order multiple sizes if you're at all in doubt!

I was expecting a tailored, slim fit such as depicted in the front-view photo of the model wearing the blue shirt. It must've been pinned back for the photo because the shirt is a relaxed fit, even in size XS. It's like a comfy chambray shirt with some velvet detail. It's not terrible, but I'm going to return it because for the price, I expected a really cool tailored shirt. Also, it's a bit lighter (i.e., casual) than in the photo, but maybe that's just me.

isil Not Slim Fit- Runs LARGE!! Good Quality!!
hi, everyone, I'm very happy with my purchase coz I took measurements into consideration!! I wear S/M in all brands usually M because I have a taller torso and 35'' bust. 28 waist. Im 5.6. I wanted a slim fit so I got XS after torturing myself a week about it (I'm overseas). I'm uploading some pictures of me wearing the XS in color blue! watch out for the MEASUREMENTS, size yourselves and if u prefer slim fit got with a size or two smaller. ALSO the white stains seen on the right arm of the model r on both arms and in a lighter form. I LOVED the shirt Im sure ill be wearing it pretty often.

Gorgeous acid-washed midweight, more denim than chambray, top. The blizzard colorway does not have velvet trimming around the pleating on the front which was a bit disappointing, however the top is nicely sewn and fits pretty tts. The one I received is more on the bluer side than white, but it looks really fabulous.
