Rated 2 out of 5Â by weshoyot lovely but a lil lacking... i bought this hat after lusting after it for several weeks. i used to have an old vintage one, but it needed to be retired. anyways, this came today and Im torn as it's cute, but really lacking in quality for the price. The leather is a soft suede, calfskin...but thin and shows that it's from poor quality calf hide, as there are uneven areas in thickness, and thin spots. I make clothes/accessories and handbags and was a lil surprised to find the interior of the bat only lined with iron-on interfacing in black, with totally raw edges. The interior has a gingham ribbon liner, and the exterior, as another poster mentioned, has a really cheap tan leather band that is glued into place and looks like it was made of scraps. Mine came squished in a plastic bag, so i had to take it out and refold the wire, which is poorly inserted as I can feel the break in the wire towards the back of the hat. This should have been joined as i could see it easily poking through the leather after a few wears. overall, this consisted of about 4 pieces of leather quickly constructed, and for the price, i'd rather buy vintage or just make one...this is going back 1.30.2013

Rated 5 out of 5Â by NinjaGirl Hats Off! I finally found the perfectly slouchy black suede wide-brimmed hat! The suede is supple, and the wire in the edging allows you to shape the brim to your liking. Mine came with a natural colored leather hatband that is 1/2" wide, which is not shown in the photos but that's alright as it gives the hat some contrast between the crown and the brim. The hatband is glued in place and has a single small brass rivet at the back to tack it down. The circumference is 22 1/2" and the brim is just shy of 4" wide. Love this hat! 1.18.2013
