Designer of Twenty One Tonnes, Chessa Osburn, is based in Vancouver, Canada. Her collection is an expression of her desire to explore and share global crafting traditions, while supporting and promoting the work of talented artisans. She is drawn to objects that are at once ancient and modern, as well as functional and aesthetic. Twenty One Tonnes produces on a smaller scale which means products are limited, therefore no two products are exactly alike
The Moroccan Kilim Boot is woven by hand in Morocco. Kilim is an ancient style of flat-woven rug that has been made in the same way for thousands of years. The patterns in a kilim typically tell a story - it might reference the landscape where it was made, or commemorate a joyous event. Because of this, each rug absolutely special and unique.
