"I too hesitated after reading the negative reviews, but took a chance. I love these boots - they resemble a pair of Ann Demeulemeester boots I've been coveting for years but can't justify $1K. The black are awesome, well made comfortable and for me felt true to size."

"despite the bad reviews, i decided to order these boots anyway. i really went out on a limb and bought them in black and brown. i am obsessed with these boots! ive worn them everyday so far since ive bought them. they match perfectly with everything and they're so comfortable. i love them and not to mention the price. i ordered a size 9 but im usually an 8.5. they still fit well though."

"After reading the mostly negative reviews for this shoe, I ended up deciding to buy it anyways. I thought with a little hope, I might be able to write a good review for these shoes. Apparently a little faith worked! I am in LOVE with this boot. I bought them in black, a size 8. I am usually a size 8.5 but I took into consideration what one of the other reviews said and bought half a size smaller, because I have bought shoes in the past that make my feet look "clownish" as she put it. But they fit really well, and I'm wearing them with thick socks at the moment so I can mold them better to my feet. If I had to say, the picture does the actual boot 100% justice. I don't know what everyone else was expecting, but I received beyond what I was thinking I was going to get when I opened the box. They're really sturdy, and personally, I love the material that they're made with, it's not too thin whatsoever. If someone else was thinking of purchasing the black version, I'd say go half a size smaller and you're golden! Also, I didn't get a faster shipping package, and they came in 4 days flat, best shipping I've ever received."

"I read the other reviews over and over before considering these on sale. For 50 dollars they're okay. The disappointing thing is the color, yes they are a muddy dark brown, not a bright, aged caramel, so they are on the cool tone side, not the warm kind of tone that goes with spring, summer, fall- but the do fit true to size, they do feel super comfortable and they look "rustic," in an understated way, so not so bad."

Too Big. Terrible Shipping, But Cool Shoe.

"Well, after 10 days these boots finally came. I've had my eye on these since March, but hesitated to order them until a few weeks ago after having read the poor reviews.
Expecting the worst when I opened them, I was actually surprised to find that they were exactly what I had expected. The leather on my buckle straps is even and fine and I think the shoelaces are how I expected they would be. They aren't stiff like straw. My shoes are somewhere in between matte and glossy. The shoelace area of the shoe is a bit puckered and ill fitting, but not so much that it bothers me.
What does bother me is that the shoes are a half size too big. I ordered my normal 8 1/2 and these shoes fit much more like a 9. I'm tripping over my feet when I walk in them and they look like clown shoes on me.
Now I am faced with the horrible reality of having to exchange these, which after already waiting FOREVER for these to get here I will have to wait an eternity to get the size that fits me. By the time I return these and FP sends them back to me, I'm betting it will be at least a month. That really enrages me."
