"I sized from a 6 to 10 for this dress. The bust runs small, material is stiff with no give. Other than that it is just as pictured. Can be dressed up with heels for a party, or dress down with flats or cowboy boots for casual. Cute, just as pictured. A lot of material. Double lined."

"This was a no go for me. I have to agree with the over reviewers regarding the disparity in the online appearance and the IRL appearance. I almost didn't realize it was the same dress. The material is quite thin, and the velvet is rather costume-y. The fit itself is flirty and fun, but the dress is just cheap. I don't see myself purchasing this at any price point. The issue is quality overall, not quality relative to price. (For me anyway.) If you give this dress a shot, the fit is a bit loose, size down if between, but I wouldn't say going down a full size is necessary."

"I didn't likte the dress when i saw it in the catalouge but after seeing it in stores I fell in love. I planned to wear it for christmas, but wound up wearing a different free people dress instead. The other reviews mention the velvet looks cheap in person and the dress is of poor quality, but I strongly disagree. The velvet is soft and really pretty, but I warn that the bottom is a little more poofy than in the pictures. Also, the dress isn't really as short as picture, but still stunning. I plan to wear for valentine's day. And it wasn't too expensive so def worth the price. Stunning dress."

"i loved this dress in the november catalog! :) i actually saw it in a macy's store, recognized it, and decided to pick it up for my winter ball. i got a size 2 b/c that's the only size they had left but got it tailored to a 0 later. i don't know why this dress has such bad reviews, i really like & don't think it looks like a costume at ALL. in the pics it looks more orange than red but if you look at the nov. catalog picture, THAT'S how it looks like in real life. it's elegant, classy, and trendy. however, the dress IS a little short (according to my school's guidelines and my own judgement) so i added an extra layer of tulle to the bottom and it looks fantastic! overall, i love this dress and would def. recommend it to anyone :) can't wait to see everyone's reaction to this dress; it's not your classic winter ball style dress but beautiful nonetheless."

"I LOVED the way this looked online!! I even read the negative reviews and still bought this HAHA...However when it came I was not as in love with this dress...It doesnt feel like a costume to me but the velvet does look different in person. Not as rich and just did not look as pretty as the velvet looks in the photo. I would possible keep this if it was not so expensive but I am going to return in becase it is not worth the money to me...I bought a 2 and I am 5ft 6 in- 115 lbs- 34D chest...The 2 fit perfect except almost looked too big even though the zipper fit perfect. The chest hung funny- it wasnt too tight but just looked top heavy with my bigger girls..it almost seemed too big in a weird way although I doubt a 0 would have zipped over my chest. Needless to say- I am returning this :)"

"I have to respectfully disagree with the previous reviewers, I thought this dress was amazing! (My own opinion though of course!) I thought it looked even better in person, the fit is fun and flirty, the velvet gives it a fancier feel than an average dress, the red color is bold and bright! You can't tell from the online photos but there is a little tie in the middle of the waist.. it does not tighten the dress but is there as a little detailed decoration. I tried this in a size 4 as the 2 would not zipper past my chest. The 4 was a smidge loose in the waist for me but not at all boxy. I am 5'3 34D, 25" waist, 33" hip bones, 36" full hips. If I celebrated Christmas I would have def bought this dress and worn to parties! I am still thinking about it now so I might go back for it eventually =) It is a little bit on the fancier side because of the velvet but when paired with my cowboy boots it gives it a nice rustic fancy cowgirl look =) I found the material sturdy and the skirt portion very whimsical!"
