This nightgown is absolutely lovely. I feel like a Victorian princess when I wear it. It's not something I want to wear every night, but its so nice to wear on those nights when I pamper myself, like soaking in a hot bath or doing my nails. It is made with a very soft cotton along with (polyester) satin strips running down the sides. As to the sides, they are split from the bottom of the gown all the way up to the arm pit area, however the front flap of the gown is larger than the back so it overlaps and covers the sides perfectly. The color is not really white or ivory, rather it is the color of antique lace. I don't usually prefer to sleep in gowns, I like cotton pajama bottoms, and sometimes I wear this gown over the pajama bottoms and sometimes add a slouchy sweatshirt with the gown hanging out from underneath. There is a huge amount of detail that went into making this nightgown and it is made with incredible quality, so for the sale price, it is worth every cent! I would recommend this to anyone. I'm 5'8" and weigh 143 lbs and I got the size Medium which is a little loose, but as to the styling of it, I think the size Small would have been similar but a little shorter, which I certainly could have worn. I'm very happy with this piece and it looks much more expensive than it was!

For the sale price, this was a great buy! I love clothing with a vintage-y/feminine feel, especially in a cream or white color, and this slip is just that! I actually bought it to wear as a dress. It is very sheer/see-through, so the only way to wear it out is with another slip layered underneath. It's also pretty shapeless, so I belted around my waist. Worn this way, the possibilities are endless! Very pretty.
