It just looks bad on my body type

"5'4 1/2" size 6 34D-27-37, I'm small and this thing clings to places that I don't think are flattering-specifically the hips. It's the only Free People dress that I'm really not thrilled about. However, I'm trying to lose those pesky holiday pounds and get back into a size 4, so maybe it will look better. The largest band does manage to make it's way around the hips as shown in the model. I didn't pay very much for it, so I can't be bothered to return, just hoping it looks better when I lose those pesky 10 pounds. I think that one must be pretty tall to pull this off properly. I can say that it doesn't drag the ground like the other Free People Maxis I've purchased."

"I loved this dress and jumped through hoops to find it in the oatmeal color in stores. Two different stores sent it to me, and both of the dresses were snagged around the neckline. I loved it, but wasn't going to keep it damaged. Never was able to find one :( It fit true to size, but very delicate!"

"I love this dress! It is extremely flattering considering that it is body conscious. It fits close enough to my body to accentuate my curves, but not so tight that it accentuates my figure flaws such as a thicker than desired waistline. I love the detailing, such as the buttons along the side slits. The color is more copper than the photo depicts. I am 5'8", I ordered it in large because I wear a D-cup bra. I usually wear a size 8 in skirts and pants. The fit is great, and the length hits me where it does on the model."

"omg, I'm surprised at the bad reviews below..I absolutely love this dress and I got it at the store for $30 or $40 bucks, can't recall. I received so many compliments on it this weekend. It didn't stretch and clung all night! Very sexy!!"

"Maybe I expected too much from this dress after all the rave reviews, but this dress was a disappointment. The colors are fine (I liked the copper best) and it's "cute", but I felt that the fabric was cheap/thin and not worth the price (especially as it is unlined). I guess I was expecting something more substantial like the hand crochet maxi. It's definitely body hugging, so you have to be comfortable with your figure. I thought it ran small and would have sized up if I had kept the dress."

"LOVE this dress - color, style, slits, everything! Only problem is that, yes, the material stretches out which is a problem for my Small/Medium frame that purchased the medium. Wish i could have sized down! Hoping this will shrink in the wash after use."
