This necklace is a handmade, totally organic piece made by the AWAJUN WOMEN ARTISANS ASSOCIATION OF URAKUSA, AMAZONAS, Perú. This association is supported by ORG by vio®. "ORG" stands for Organic Rainforest Goods and spells GRO backwards; "by vio" is an acronym for Violeta and Indigenous Organizations. Violeta Villacorta is the designer of ORG by vio®. ORG by vio® works in partnership with indigenous Amazon artisans to promote their culture and artistry, and to develop collections made with plant materials as a source for a sustainable economy for the stewards of the forests.
By purchasing this exquisite Amazon piece, you support the work of indigenous Amazon artisans and communities, the cultivation of their artistry that generates a sustainable economy, and the protection of the rainforest that they live in, which also provides the air we breathe and the regulation of our global climate as a whole.
All of the goods designed and created by ORG by vio® are fairly traded. ORG shares 50% of profits with producing communities through projects that address their needs to ensure their success.
