The Ivy Cutoff Shorts
I was obsessed with these shorts as soon as I saw them in the May catalog. I love lime green and love dip dye. I did think the price was a bit high for shorts, so I waited for them hit the sale page. I have a 26" waist and 36" hips. My upper thighs are a muscular 21.5" at the widest point. I typically size up to a 6/28 in denim because I like to wear jeans/cut offs slouchy. I actually wanted these in 29, but they sold out while I was checking out, so I went with the 28. The waistband hits low at hip bones and measures 34". I have lots of extra room here. The hips are snug at 36" but have LOADS of stretch. I know I am in the minority, but I dislike stretch denim and miss 100% cotton dominating the denim market. It is hard to get that "intentionally baggy, not trying too hard" look with stretch denim. The thigh opening on the 28 is 23" which I am happy with. I was worried they would hug my thighs....which I think is a really unflattering look. The pair I received are darker green and do not have as obvious a dip dyed look as compared to the studio photos. (Picture attached.) I wish they had looked exactly like the photos, but I think they are super cute regardless and did not deduct a star.
I got these because i really liked the color and the ombre look. They are super comfy and have some stretch to them. I'm usually worried about this part of my body looking too big or wide but they are flattering and the leg openings are big enough that they don't fit too tight and have some gap. I have a pretty athletic body (play soccer) and my hips are around 41 1/2" and I ordered the 29.
nice and stretchy
i love green so i had to have these. mine werent quite as pictured the faded color wasnt as obvious but i still like them. they do run big im 5'5 115 i ordered a 27 because i like my shorts to be someone roomy but i def could have ordered a 26. they are super stretchy so they are really comfy and i think i will get alot of use out of them this summer. i bought the top too because i just loved this outfit. :)
