Sarah Lewis is a Philadelphia-based designer. She originally worked for Free People as an accessories designer. Her accessory designs are based off of any amazing fabric, trim, or embellishment that she can find so she is always on the hunt for new materials and finding new ways to combine materials. Her inspiration behind her line of embellished vintage bags was the ability to take old bags that were once used in war and give them new life by re-purposing them and making them beautiful.
The Charmed Leather Satchel is a 50+ year old leather bag from Switzerland that was used for ammunition. Each bag is a one of a kind and some have unique features, including small initials carved into the sides. The metal embellishments were all found from suppliers in New York. The floral embellishments are pretty and feminine which creates a great contrast to the roughness of the leather bag and the metal stud detail.
