Rated 5 out of 5 by Accidental best friend I picked up this sweater because of the chunky knit and nearly put it down when I saw how boxy it looked, but well, once you feel how soft it is you won't want to part with it either! Anyway, I was looking for a thermal and decided to take this back with me to the fitting room on a whim to see how it's shape would look over other things. Sweet, sweet mercy. I love this sweater. I've never bought a loose sweater like this and let me tell you that it hangs beautifully. The sumptuous knit is dense enough that the sweater gives you the look of, "oh, I don't have to try to look good. I just barely got out of bed 5 minutes ago with my French lover" because it effortlessly cuddles your chest but leaves your love handles to the imagination. Needless to say, I bought this instead of the thermal. It looks GREAT on byitself and wonderful layered over a thermal! Very versatile, cozy, and oversized. I normally order a small, bought in this I sized down to an XS so I wouldn't drown. I'm 5'4", 119 lbs., 32 A. Also, I purchased this in the champagne color which is like a very, very light apricot. Gorgeous. 8.9.2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Pretty but short lived It looks and fits great at first but then it pills and goes out of shape after a couple washes... In a laundry bag on delicate/cool and laid flat to dry. It has discolored and gotten super pilly and fuzzy under the armpits and wearever something has rubbed it... especially where my purse touched it.. sad and disappointed! 3.26.2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Comfy Cozy Really cute and cozy on. I purchased this in my normal FP size XSmall, and it has plenty of room. I am a petite at 5'2" so it hangs longer on me than on the model. The knit is on the heavier side, is not itchy or scratchy, and the heavier weight allows the sweater to hang nicely without looking bulky. The sleeves are a little on the small side, but I wouldn't size up unless you feel you have bigger arms. I ordered the black color way and it is definitely black and not soot, so maybe the previous reviewer received one that got mixed up in FP's inventory. If you are looking at an XSmall, here are the dimensions of the one I received: front length from shoulder seam: 23 1/2" back length from shoulder seam: 27 1/2" bust all around: 55" sleeve length from neck opening: 17 1/2" sleeve cuff width across relaxed: 4" 7.23.2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Questionable on the quality Love the look and feel of this sweater. Lots of compliments when I wear this. I have this in black and soot. Super cute and soft. However, I noticed after one wash (in a lingerie bag) my black pullover is already falling apart at the cuff and pilling. Really??? For $108 for a cotton pullover that shouldn't happen. Disappointed! 12.28.2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Comfy Cute This sweater is very soft and ultra comfy cute! A word of caution though, Oversized is an understatement. I am 5'4" and 120lbs with an athletic build....I ordered the XS in Soot and it is very big. Looks adorable off the shoulder with skinny jeans/leggings, but don't think I could wear it on both shoulders if I wanted to....Sometimes falls off both shoulders when moving around. Nonetheless, it is very cute with a nice, flattering shape. When worn with shoulder seams at top of shoulders(not pulled to the back) the front of the sweater hangs under my hips. 9.12.2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Versatile Sweater-Is Soot the New Black? I do like this sweater. A word of caution--I ordered the black online and received in mail yesterday and it was the soot color. The tag even says "black" on it. I tried it on anyway and do like the oversize fit. Sweater is not wool and you could wear it when the weather is just a bit cool. The sleeves are just below your elbow so if you like to push back the sleeves on your sweaters anyway, this makes it kind of easier. Even though I did not order the soot color, I may keep it anyway. I will look for a real black sweater somehow. 7.16.2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love this sweater - want it in every color! I adore this sweater. I have it in three colors already and would have more if they keep adding. It's the perfect sweater over just about anything. Long enough to wear with leggings, oversized, but not rendered shapeless thanks to the open neckline that shows just enough skin, and it's very warm and comfortable. A total staple. I love it! 10.2.2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by The loveliest I bought this in Soot in a size Large, and have found myself reaching for it constantly. It is so soft and hangs just right. I'm a bigger girl (size 14/16 with a 38 DDD chest# and I was really nervous about this sweater making me look like a tent. I was wrong! Since it's boxy, it squares off my hips and is thick enough to camouflage any wobbly bits. It does hang off the shoulder a bit, which I love, especially with a pretty bralette or something. So far I've worn this with skinnies, boyfriend jeans, slouchy cuffed chinos and shorts and it looks great across the board. My only concern is pilling #which I've noticed after a few gentle hand-washes)and eventual unraveling. I've noticed one or two loose threads, and I hope it doesn't fall apart because I want to hang on to this for a long time. I will be repurchasing in another color for sure. 9.23.2014
