I purchased these shorts in ivory and am thrilled with them. The lace is beautiful and they are very well made. I have a 26" waist and 36" hip. I ordered size S and find them a bit too loose. I would have been better in an XS, but the fit was not worth going through the exchange process for. The cut is quite flowy; more like a skort anyway. The relaxed waistband on the S is 27", the hips 44" and the leg opening circumference 28". Thus I have to wear them below my natural waist. Def size down if you want to wear these high waisted. You can't go wrong with this cute and versatile style. Highly recommended..

Surprisingly, my bf pointed these out in the FP store because he thought these were nice- and he HATES shopping with me. They are ultra-feminine and look great with a casual top. The elastic waist makes them comfy and provides a good, versatile fit.

These shorts are light, effortless and sweet. Not to sheer. They look great with more of a tomboy shirt to give a cool contrast of styles. Great layering staple.

I saw these shorts in the store, and I had to try them on because I have been wanting a pair of lace shorts forever. I wasn't planning on buying them because of the price, but once I put them on I had to get them. They are more of an off-white than in the pictures, and they look very vintage-y. I have tried them on with a few different outfits, and they are very easy to dress up and dress down. Additionally, because of the length and the fabric and cut, they look a little like a skirt, so I think that adds to their versatility. Overall, I love them a lot.

When I ordered these shorts I was really excited because I had already purchased the Scalloped Eyelet Shorts (which I loved) from this site and I figured these would have a similar fit. They did not. I agree with the above reviewers that these look boxy on. I think this is because the short has two layers; the bottom layer (the lining) is polyester and lies flat against the body, but the top layer (the lace) has a very thick seam allowance on the interior of where the shorts are stitched together at each side. This causes the fabric to pull away from the body and gives the illusion of the wearer having much wider hips. I'd say they make my hips look about a half an inch wider on each side.
Another problem was that the elastic in the waistband doesnât have a whole lot of stretch to it so it has the tendency to want to ride up to your waist. If you want them to sit lower on your hips and look longer Iâd go up a size. If you are comfortable with a shorter looking rise then I would stick to whatever size you normally order.
Overall I think the shorts would look really cute on the right person, just not on me. I would definitely recommend them to someone with a straighter, more rectangular body type because these will give you the illusion of having subtle curves.

I absolutely LOVE these shorts! I found them at my local store that sells free people, and tried them on and they were the perfect fit! They do run a bit bigger than normal free people shorts, but this is why i love them! They are flowy and go with just about ANYTHING! The price is a little high but totally worth it, dont wait for these to go on sale, buy now! I cant wait to get another pair in black. Also the website shows the cream pair as looking really white, this is not right, they are much more cream and off white in person, which in my opinion is a plus! I'm 5'5 and 140 for comparison.

I have these shorts in the truffle color and I love them! They're different from traditional shorts and most people I know think it's a skirt. But I only get compliments on them. It's definitely a piece you can transition into fall with tights or even into winter if you have the darker colors. As with nearly all free people shorts they do run big, but often not enough to size down. I recommend trying them on in person if you get the chance

This is a great short. It works like a basic but the lace keeps it from being too boring or typical. I purchased the white and thought it was ok (I actually wanted the teal or the red, but they were out of my size). It fit mostly TTS, maybe a smidgen large. Since all the reviews indicated that it ran big I ordered a medium when I usually wear a large, especially because I wanted to minimize the billowy shape some people experienced in the lower half of the shorts. That did the trick, but the medium waistband was a little tight, but it's stretchy so not uncomfortably so. I think I would have kept these shorts in the end if they hadn't been white lace - just isn't my style (a little too sweet and feminine) and I'm afraid I wouldn't have worn them often enough to justify the purchase. I will say from an objective point of view that these shorts have great styling potential if they're your kind of shorts, and could easily be dressed up or down for both day and night. Oh, I also found the fabric to be a bit heavy, so maybe not ideal for the hottest/most humid summer days, but certainly doable for evenings and more temperate weather.
