Gorgeous but not quite there

"I loved this dress when I saw it in the catalog, but hesitated to order it because it seems so difficult to wear. I ended up getting it in an XS (I am 5'9", 125lbs 32B). Usually I am a small or XS in FP depending on the style, and for this you definitely have to err on the side of smaller. The waist is not super fitting because, as another reviewer mentioned, of all the gathering. The bust is roomy, and part of this has to do with the cut of the mesh V. It is very revealing, and I'm sure if you have a bigger bust it could be too much. The cut in the front combined with the cutout in the back makes it impossible to wear a bra. The entire bodice (including the darker parts, at least in the gray color) is sheer, so you'll want to wear something underneath. I found that you could pair it with a bandeau or tube and then if you want you can wear a strapless bra. I wish you didn't have to, because I think that kind of obscures the beautiful cut of the bodice, but to me it's still worth keeping the dress. I found the bottom to be extremely flattering, but I don't have large hips so I'm not sure how it would fall on a curvier girl. The hem hits about where it does on the model for me. Overall, a beautiful dress, but maybe not the most practical."

"im usually between a medium and a small, closer to the medium side. i weigh 126 pounds and i'm a size 34B bra size. bought this dress in a small and it was HUGE. i read the reviews and saw that it ran large but it REALLY runs large. I ended up just taking it to a seamstress to get taken in but i'm annoyed at how much this dress was starting to cost me. It also only came in 3 weeks after i ordered it (i live in canada) and it was really hard for me to track where the dress was once it reached the border. Overall it's still a pretty dress and it looks good on (although i did get it altered) but i don't know if it was worth the time, effort and money."

"This runs true to size. It is silky, stretchy material bottom and sheer on top. Needs a bandeau or tube under it, or stick on petals. Very nice dress. Just as pictured. Flattering cut."

"This dress is sexy, funky and easy to wear; you can dress it up with heals or wear with ankle boots and a jean jacket. I love the drape because it doesn't hug anywhere on my hips and is very flattering. I bought it in both colors. Love the burgundy, but the grey is great too. It is cut pretty severely in the front and probably would not work if you are busty. I wear a 36B and it is just "showy" enough. Because of that, I bought the extra small. I usually wear small. Bring on more of this look!!"

"I'm 5'8 and 125 lb. I bought this in a small, and wow it was too big. I'm usually a small or medium. XS, I have not been since I was 12 but in this dress, a must. Otherwise the boobies would be everywhere. this dress is not forgiving in all body types. My sister who is shorter and curvier thought this dress was horrible. my advice is if you like this dress size down one, maybe two sizes! I'd also advise being tall."

"I ordered this dress when it first appeared on line and it was backordered for many weeks.
I must say it's a beautiful dress, but kind of shapeless and too large by probably a whole size. I am an XS, and free people usually fits well. This was way too roomy and long on the top, and the waist, which should be fitted, was sort of baggy and bulky because of the gathers. It left the bottom just plain unflattering. It's too bad!"

"I looked at this dress everyday to see when it became available and purchased it the first day. While it is very roomy, if you are chesty, it's great and if you're lean, that's even better. I'm short, curvy and a bit thick so I'm sure I'm not the ideal body type to wear the dress... however, I wore it to a wedding, got tons of compliments, and felt beautiful wearing it. I bought the grey, so it goes with tons of colors and the dress as a whole is constructed very well. I bought the large just to be safe but it's definitely a bit over-sized so surely size down. I will say this though... it isn't the easiest dress to wear a cover-up with. You almost always have to wear it without one. If you wear a cover up, it looks like you're wearing a baggy sheet and the dress itself is done no justice. I love this dress!"

Lovely Cardinal color-- unique dress

"I had been looking at this dress for awhile and finally made the splurge. My concern was also the sheer bodice and layering options. I am 5'10" and 155 lbs.
Firstly the cardinal is beautiful, deep and red. The bodice with embroidery is also very well done and the colors are a perfect compliment. My problem is I tend to be a little big through the hips and small on top. I'm usually between a medium and a large and I'm glad I sized down for this one. It is roomy in the bodice but the the fit through the hips is very nice and actually has a slimming effect. The bodice is a little too roomy. I thought the mesh would give it more shape. On me the mesh bodice is also too revealing, I found a bandeau looks fine with it even though the back peeks out through the straps. I usually wear a scarf coverup with dresses like this so it covers the back nicely, I also tried it on with the corset ruffle slip and it gives it a unique layered look. I think any slip with a racer back will look fine with this dress.
