"My hips are 35", so I tend to be between a 0 and 4 depending on the fit and brand. In Free People I generally find myself in a 2, but these shorts definitely run big! I tried the teal on in a size 4 in a boutique and my mom talked me into getting them since they "looked fine" fit-wise. A few weeks later I ordered these online because I wanted the black and tried them on. No way. Sent them back in exchange for 2's, but they were STILL way too big! If it wasn't such a hassle to send these back and exchange them a second time for 0's, I would. My pic shows how much gapping there is in the waist and how they fit on me. Not terrible, but a size smaller would be more comfortable. I ended up washing them and drying on low/medium heat and that helped a little, but they're still not as fitted as they should be. I guess if I ever gain weight I'll still have cute shorts to wear! On another note, the print is adorable. I purchased the black but saw both in person, and the pics online are accurate."

"These shorts fit on the large size and one size down fit me just fine. If you have no booty, you might be good with 1.5 sizes down. I can't imagine a full 2 down though. Maybe. The fit is okay, the length of the shorts is great though. Like other highwaisted items, the fit in the waist was weird for me. I think the fit in the waist is looser than the fit in the rear which was awkward and made me not purchase these. The pattern is as pictured."

"I am normally wear a 4 in shorts. I got a 2 and had to exchange them for a 0. Other than size they are really cute and very comfortable--they have a lot of stretch to the material. I got the black, and unlike the other reviews the colors are a little duller than the photo."

"I just got these shorts in the deep jade color which is sooo much prettier in person! the colors are so nice! I got my usual size (4) and they fit really nice I thought they were flattering and I like the looser fit for these. They are high waisted so when I sized dow they were a bit short. I recomend these for sure!"

"These hot pants are very cute. The patterns look better in person. The pants have stretch to them but run rather narrow. I would recommend sizing up if you have pear shape issues. At least once or two sizes. Very fun shorts great for spring and summer."

"i bought this shorts in the bloomingdales store and automatically fell in love with them. they are really light and comfy and honestly the picture doesn't do them justice. they look a lot better in the person. the colors really pop and a bunch of different color tops can be wore with them. i got a crochet bright orange free people top to pair with it and got an orange bandeau to go underneath and it looked really good. i would definitely recommend them! they are really comfortable! i'm 5'3 and about 130 and i got a size 4 and they are a little lose not too tight but i dont think i could have gotten into a 2 and the 6 was way to big."
