"When I put this dress on after receiving it in the mail, I was expecting to love it, but I was really underwhelmed. The way the bottom is cut and the colors give it a really pirate-y vibe. I contemplated keeping it just for a Halloween costume for next year, but it's a little too pricey for that. Anyway, the length was too long on me also. I'm 5'5" and curvy... 150lbs. I ordered the large, my usual size, but my butt was above the black skirt's starting line if that makes sense. And I do not have long legs. In short, I recommend sizing down if you live pirates, but I'm going to return this dress."

"this dress is a really good buy. Its easy to just throw on when you dont have time to put together an outfit. Pairs great with some tights and boots or a cute leather jacket. it is oversized but likee other people said, that how the style is meant to look. I'd say stick to the size you usually get in dresses or if anything maybe size down. I was also a little surprised because for some reason I thought the skirt part looked like chiffon and i didn't read the description, it is really just cotton, which kind of makes it look a little cheap but like i said, all in all, it's a good buy!"

"When i saw this dress way back when - I knew it was a must have for me! Sadly, when I saw it at one of the Free People Stores ...I was rather disappointed in the fit. The material is great but the extra small was incredibly roomy, making me feel as if I were wearing a bag. If it could be taken down a few sizes I think I would have bought it right then and there. The dress screams Paris cafe, something I'm very fond of. Still- too roomy."

"I bought this gem at my local Free People. There was only a small left (I'm normally a LARGE) but I decided to try it on anyways after seeing how huge it was. The dress fit me tighter then the model (not to say it fit tightly on me, just not nearly as loose as they make it to be). Overall it was a good buy, it is ridiculously short on me though so pairing with shorts is a must."

"This dress is absolutely adorable- SO fun and flirty! I am going to be throwing this dress on all summer, a very easy cute outfit. Yes, it's roomy, that's the point. I am 5'9, and got a small, and it is long enough, but I still might wear the seamless romper underneath just or be safe because it is so flouncy. The neckline on mine is fine. Yes it is wide, but a strapless bra works great. I picture myself Floating through the market and prancing through the fields... : )"

"I got the black and white. I am 5'8" about 120 pounds and I got an XS when I am usually a S or every once in a while even a M in dresses. Lengthwise, it's fine for me, I would say it hits my leg about where it does on the picture. It's so loose and comfy but still stylish! Reminds me of Paris. I got the black and white and I love it. The skirt on it is cute and flouncy too, which is fun. Since it rains here a lot (Seattle woot woot!), I wear it a lot with sheer-ish black tights and short brown Frye Engineer boots. Really cute. I kind of couldn't decide how to accessorize it bit I have found it looks really cute with big gold chandelier earrings and hair half up kind of Brigitte Bardot-esque."

"I am 5 ft 1 and 95lb, 32B. I got XS, but runs too huge. The quality is good, not thin materials. Very comfy and versatile. However, shoulders and body are very wide and boxy, and the neck is very deep. Even though, its meant to be over-sized design, its too huge!! I really wanted to keep this dress, but couldn't. Please make XXS!"

"Definitely sizes on the large size- best to drop one size to fit it perfectly. Looks amazing on, very flattering all over. Works for winter perfectly- I am from New Zealand and it looks so great on a cold day with tights, boots and a baggy knit jumper. So happy with it!"
