"Vintage looking. I ordered the black and the toes are scuffed as if I'd owned them for awhile. If you are looking for a vintage looking boot then these are them. So glad I ordered a 1/2 size up. These boots run small. I am a true size 6 and these 6.5 fit right on. The circumference is narrow. Not sure if it is 16 or not but I know I would not be able to tuck my boot leg jeans into these. Only leggings or skinny jeans. Which is what I would wear these with anyway. I am 5'4 and 117 the shaft is perfect for this type of boot. They fall an inch or two below my knee. I had to stretch the heel/ankle part of the boot a bit bc they were rubbing on my ankle bone. Once I did they were perfect. These are boots you will have for a lifetime. Made really well. A must buy."

"These boots are AMAZING; they look just as beautiful in person, if not better, than they do online. Quality leather, construction, and very comfortable. I wish I had read the other reviews before ordering...my calves did NOT fit either. I"m 5'3" 140, and about a size 6. I could zip them up, but they probably would be too tight with skinny jeans. SADLY, I will be sending these back. The only other negative, was they were distressed on the toes a lot. My Frye boots got that same wear and tear look on their own. I was afraid if I kept them, the toes would be worn of color after just one season of wearing them."

"These boots are beautiful, the leather and colour of the boots (I bought brown) were just as pictured only better. Even after reading other reviews and being careful to measure my calves, which in theory they should have just fit, but went up a half size "just to be sure" and they still don't come close. The shaft is so narrow that you truly do need a super tiny calf to fit them, I couldn't get the zipper up the last two inches which is really too bad. Had to send the boots back as a result."

Love these boots!!!

"I have been searching for a pair of riding boots and finally came across these. I have a 12.75 inch calf and these don't fit as baggy as in the pic. I can wear thick socks and skinny jeans comfortably tucked inside. The slouching at the ankles is the same as the picture and the zippers in the back are fully functional. They are not the reddish color you see in the pic but still a nice cognac brownish color. The distressing and how the color goes from dark to lighter is the same. I usually wear a size 5 but since a 36 (6) was the smallest, that's what I got. They are a bit loose but I stuck inserts in and with my socks, they fit fine. The top of the boot hits right under my knee cap. I wore them all day and my feet didn't hurt at all. The smell of the leather is amazing and they are made so durable, the quality is great. These are going to be my new favorite!"

"These boots are absolutely gorgeous...the color, the leather, the feel, the smell, just overall beautiful & well made. Everything seems true to size to me with the exception of the shaft. They are described as having a 16" shaft. My calves are very muscular (15") & I can barely get the boots zipped all the way up. Once zipped, they are not comfortable because they are so tight. Debating whether to send them back, or try to stretch them/alter them to better fit. I am 5'6" & 140lbs, & they do fit very high on the calf, just below the bend of the knee."

"these boots couldnt BE any more beautiful. the color, length, shape, everything about them is so pretty. BUT unfortunatly, if you have thicker more muscular calves they arent going to work. I asked for them for christmas not only because of the color and overall look, but also because in the picture they look ridiculously loose around the models legs! even with those thick socks! but unfortunatley when I tried them on, i could zip them up but they were uncomfortably tight and i had to return them :[ I'm 5'8' and 130lbs but my calves are muscular! didnt work out for me :["

Awesome Boots!

"I LOVE these boots! The fit is just perfect. I'm 5'6", 125lbs and I have 14.25" calves at the widest point and these boots fit me perfectly with skinny jeans on-I would say that they are actually a 15" circumference as stated on other websites where they are sold, not 16" as stated here. They fit exactly true to size in my opinion (I normally wear 7.5 in shoes and 8 in boots and I ordered a 38) so I find it strange that there are such inconsistencies in the reviews. The leather is high quality, thick yet still soft and the zipper on the back adds a bit of edge to these classic boots. They fit very much like the picture but closer to my calf. I went with the black because I tried on the brown in person and while I do like them better on then on the shelf, the contrast in color between the bottom and top of the boot is still a bit drastic for me and the lines of the "distressing" on the brown boot look very man-made. These boots are worth the price and I believe I will them wear for many years to come."
