Love how this looks on the hanger, but something about my body shape imply does not work with this. It seemed tight in the chest, but really loose everywhere else. A lovely casual dress if you are small chested, but not so awesome for my shape, sadly.

I'm 5'8 and 105 lbs, and ordered the XS. The arms are a little bit tight in the shoulder area, but everything else fits well. I was nervous that since I don't really have any curves (small chest and hips), the dress might just look like an oversized t-shirt, but I figured if it made me look like I was drowning in fabric I could use an elastic belt at the waist to bring out my figure. I haven't ended up needing to do that because while the dress is loose, it's still very flattering! I constantly get compliments when I wear it out, and people asking where they can get this piece. The material is very soft and comfortable, and lightweight enough to wear on hot days. Perfect for a casual day out!

A few months ago I got it in an xs in grey and was so disappointed in it bc the arms were SO tight and the rest had no shape. This time I thought about how i could pair it, and ordered a small. The arms fit much better (I really don't have fat arms!) but I'll be pairing it with a waist-high belt or something to give it a little shape, otherwise I feel like I'm wearing an open robe, and that feeling is really noticeable if I bend over because all the fabric flaps out in front. yeesh! But I'm keeping it and using it as a layering basic to show off some of my boots and knee high socks.

this is one of my favs. the shape is flattering, it's not sheer so it doesn't require something else under, and it's at a great price point. i'm 5'3" and the length is perfect on me. it's long enough in the front that i don't need to wear something underneath, but there''s enough room for a slip or tank/skirt if desired without making it all too bulky. the buttons are also perfect as i'm able to wear them all unbuttoned and it's still not too scandalous. i don't have skinny arms but i don't find the sleeves to be too tight. i think this piece is very flexible in that you can wear it on its own, or with anything else (shorts, jeans, slips, skirts etc.).

I spotted this in the FP store and was immediately drawn to the heather grey. In the XS the arms were super tight. I have thin noodle arms and was surprised, so I tried the small and it fit perfectly.
The dress is flowy and cut too high in the front to be worn with out the proper coverage. Tights, or cute small shorts will be necessary.
The fabric is super soft. The top is well fitted so that although the rest of the dress bellows, it works well because it'll still show off your limbs.

i have never been so disappointed from what i've ordered from free people before. i got two of these, the flamingo pink (last one in stock and i grabbed it) and the grey heather in size xs. i'm usually an xs at free people. i'm 5'3", 110lbs, 32C for reference. i have shorter legs but the back dip hem ended about mid calf on me.
first thing, the material. the grey heather was so uncomfortable and was not 100% cotton. i see that they have changed that in the description now. and for sizing, it's tight at the top and the arms. the front hem is also quite short. the flamingo is so comfortable and soft and stretchy and is 100% cotton. so the sizing is a little different too, as another reviewer has said.
next specifically the flamingo dress. i LOVE the color and ordered it right when i was notified my size was back in stock. but sadly, i don't know if it's even worth keeping and trying to fix because the button down front and the line in the front is totally crooked. it's not even subtle, it's so obvious. i thought it was just me putting it on wrong or something and i tried adjusting the dress, but no matter what, it was just very very crooked. both holding the dress up and lying it flat shows the lines on the back and front don't line up, either. i'm so upset over this lack of quality control. i have never encountered this problem before at free people. now i guess i know why it was returned.
also, the tag on the flamingo pink dress says intimately while the grey heather dress says fp beach.
i really really want to keep the flamingo dress because it fits so nicely, the color is beautiful, and it feels great, but the terrible alignment kind of ruins it. and now it's sold out. :[

I really, really, really like this dress! It is so versatile, which makes it so much fun!!! it's definitely something that can be worn all year round. I was a little nervous about the 'high to low' look given that I am 5'3 but, to my surprise, the dress is very flattering on me. If you are shorter you can definitely get away with wearing it as a dress. I absolutely love this dress. I have it in the light army color and am seriously considering purchasing it in the coral color.

I really wished this dress worked, but it didn't! The fit was very odd, I'm 5'9 and 135lbs so I ordered the small in heather grey. However, it was tight on my shoulders and short in the front. It just looked like a long tunic or something. Really wasn't impressed, and wished it would have fit. It could have been because of my broad shoulders but i'm not too sure.
