"i got this in the tea color, which is really just white. if it had actually looked like the catalog pic, it'd have been lovely. in real life, the shorter sleeves are not as cute. i sized up based on the bust measurements, but the dress itself is pretty loose. even with the size up, the slip is still constricting. it's basically still sheer so you'd still need to wear something else underneath. the slip is also ill-fitted and uncomfortable. the sleeves have a lot of material and make you look wide on top."

"I think if the sleeves had been as long irl as they are in the catalog shot v. the length in the studio shot, and if the body had been solid w/o the slip and stopped at the length of the slip instead of being sheer and long on top with a tiny slip underneath this could've been a good dress. Just getting the dress on was a hassle though. The slip is narrow and bunches, but it also doesn't really cover much up top. The body of the dress was sort of poofy without much movement... not the breezy number the images would lead you to believe. One thing the images do capture is just how wide the shoulders are. I'm narrow and that along was a huge sticking point. If you're tall enough for the dress do hit about mid thigh, and have wider shoulders with a smaller chest, this might work. Petites, no way. I'd say to size down if you're not too curvy. Some found the dress to run small... the issue is with the narrow slip."

"I honestly am not sure about these other reviews. I am 5'3", a size 2/4 on top and 4/6 on the bottom. I have a pretty curvey bottom. Anyway, I loved the way this fit. The dress is actually short enough, even for a petite girl like me. It is a short dress. I like that the slip is a little more fitted, but not tight, it makes me confident nothing is "falling out" since the dress is a little skimpy. The fit on top is awesome. I do wish the sleeves were long like in the catalogue, but I can't wait to wear this dress in Maui in a couple months!!"

"This dress looks great on the model, but just "okay" and rather "blah" on me. I am going to return it. I can't put my finger on it, but something just isn't right....perhaps just not right for my body. I am 5'6 and 115 and it just didn't do anything for me."

"I was excited to see this dress in my local Free People store and promptly tried it on. I love the way the top fits however the slip is definitely a deal breaker. It is definitely too short and tight for this style of dress. I was picturing wearing this on a hot day with some cow boy boots but the slip feels like something that could ride up and looks constricting even though it is comfortable which is opposite of the look in the picture. I was picturing loose and flowing. I would love to see round 2 on this one."

"I purchased this dress in a size Medium in the tea color. I wanted to love it, the design is perfect and it's so beautiful online. Not as "white" in person, which I liked.
The other two reviewers said it was sheer YEP and the second reviewer stated the size issue. I too and a little hippier and so the medium fit great but a small the slip would have been too snug. The medium dress itself was too large on me and big in my shoulders (in the dresses defense I have very small shoulders) I could exchange it for a small so the dress would fit but the flip would be useless and I'd have to layer with a tank/leggings or another slip. So I didn't want to pay the price for a top. It was a great piece but just an awkward fit and sheer style. Sadly as much as I wanted to keep it, it's going back (oh and for reference I am 5'8 127 lbs and a size 6)"

"I ordered this dress in the poppy color in my usual small. I'm 5', with a 34C chest and I have wide hips. The problem with this dress is the slip underneath. The slip itself doesn't quite fit comfortably on my hips to the point that it almost feels a full size smaller. It's tight, and also very short even on my 5' frame. I tried adding a slip underneath for length, but that just exacerbates the tightness problem. I'm going to need to find a slip of similar color and greater length to just replace it completely. You can't tell from the studio photos, but the dress is much more sheer on the top at the "lace part" (which I would hardly consider lace, but more if a fine crochet) so you can see the slip underneath. That wouldn't be an issue except that the slip just won't stay in place. It keeps falling lower and moving off-center, exposing anything underneath, which is a problem for a larger chest. The cut is also very low on me, much lower than it appears on the model so there is some cleavage involved. The other problem is the sleeves. I think it was a big mistake to make the sleeves much shorter than pictured in the catalog, because they poof out a bit only making me appear wider. All in all, I think these problems are an issue of fit vs body type (and I'm probably pairing it with the wrong slips underneath), so perhaps this dress just isn't suited for me. I can see this being much more flattering on a more slender girl, but I'm going to experiment with slips and see if I can make it work. The dress really is lovely, and the poppy color is just as pictured, but the issues with fit almost make it more of a chore to wear."

"I just pruchased this dress in XS. I'm 5'2 105 llbs. It fits true to size. It is so lovely and very "Meadow" My only issue with it is that it's really sheer. It does come with a slip inside, however even with that you could still see my underwear/bra. So I had to wear 2 slips. Luckily I have a million from shopping at FP so much. Other than that, it's really soft material, super comfy."
