I love this maxi! It is so comfortable and I love that even though it is 'dressy', it can be paired with so many things to wear it casually. Very stunning when you walk. I lift it up on one side with my hand while walking so I keep it nice. A must-have staple!

Now that I look at the different pictures I can see the difference between the waist band which is definitely black and the skirt which is a dark gray. I actually like the color since its more interesting and different. It is definitely big. I normally wear a medium but I could have easily gone to a small. I'm 5'9" and I have to pull it up to my belly button and it still drags in the front. I personally don't mind this since I like my clothes to fit long. I love the back which is meant to drag on the ground. I was thinking about wearing this to see the Rockets and walk around to look at holiday stuff in NYC this weekend. I'm not sure if the back will be a hassle for that kind of thing especially if we are taking public transportation and climbing stairs or getting on a bus. I hate stepping on my skirts. I may give it a try and see what happens. I think I'll bring some pins on me and quickly modify it if I think its a hazard. I tried that earlier and it looks great. Weight wise, the skirt is heavy but while wearing it doesn't feel bulky and it lays nicely so not to add weight on you. I think that is because jersey material is typically forgiving. Even if you decide to pin it up, the material gathers nicely and it can show off your cool boots/shoes. Top wise, I think I'll go with a simple white tank top and my black vegan leather jacket and some fun jewelry and/or scarf depending on how cold it is.

Just receved this in the mail and i have to say that im a bit bummed. Not only is it GRAY it also is cheaply made. The Elastic waste band is fraying and the base fabric that the ruffels attach to Looks like a shear Cheap under slip to a trashy dress from wet seal... For almost 200$ i expected much better quality than this.
Makes me really sad as i love the way it looks, unfortuniatly i can not handle feeling as though i actualy paid as much as i did for somthing so badly made so im Sending it back tomarrow :(

I was originally stalking this maxi last fall and then it sold out (and stores carried little to no product). I finally bit the bullet and bought it last week and I have to say that it is amazing. Just like all the other folks are saying: it runs big. I'm 5'9" and I ordered the small & the medium to to be sure. The medium had way to much fabric (so it was heavier) and the wasteband fell down on me. So much so, I thought maybe I'd return. BUT then I put on the small: the small fit like a glove: easy to move in and sits nicely on my hips. Super cute with a tank, chunky necklace! This skirt is a statement piece. Elegant but funky and, in fear that I sound nerdy, I feel so cool in it! I will be wearing it for years to come. I am so SO glad I bought it.

This is the most stunning FP piece I own. I wasn't 100% sure about the skirt when I first opened and put it on. However, after wearing with a black tank, cropped denim jacket and my Frye combat boots, it has become my absolute favorite thing from Free People. I didn't realize it at first but there are bustling strings for the train of the skirt. I undo it when I'm feeling a bit dramatic. I have so many things this skirt will go with - can be casual or dressy. LOVE it and so glad I got it!!

This is, by far, my favorite thing I've ever bought from FP. This piece is TTS if you are used to Free People, which can run a bit large. The skirt is see through in the panels between the ruffles but in the gray you can't actually see anything. I am 5'3" and with 6" heels the skirt barely sweeps the floor. This is a hard piece to tailor as it does have a train in the back but there are strings on the inside of the skirt that will enable you to tie the train up so it bustles in the back and won't drag behind you. I wear this skirt with a fitted Guess t-shirt that has embellished shoulders. I tuck the t-shirt in and wear it with the train down; the casual shirt with the dressy skirt is a great combination and tucking the shirt in doesn't take away from the skirt. The skirt is beautiful with the train tied up but the train makes the skirt stunning. I was stopped by men and women to tell me how much they loved the skirt. I even had people yelling at me from across parking lots to ask where I got it. Great piece!

Truly just that - amazing! By far the most flattering maxi skirt I've ever purchased. The weight makes it hang beautifully and creates a slim silhouette even with the abundant ruffles and material. After reading reviews I decided to size down from my normal size S to an XS. If I was planning on wearing it lower on my hips I might have wanted the S for more stretch in the waistband, but since I'm planning on wearing it high waisted with a crop or tied up tee I'm happy with the XS. I love the idea of it being a statement piece in an otherwise casual outfit, but it could very easily be dressed up too. The train at the back is absolutely stunning, but wearing it loose will be limited to places I don't mind it dragging! As it is at 5'5" I will need to wear heels to avoid the front dragging too. The ties inside that pull up the length at the back will allow me to wear it more often without worrying about ruining the train or having to carry it while outdoors! I got the black (dark grey) color and it didn't appear to be too sheer to get away with no additional slip, but it is a bit rainy and dark today - maybe sunlight behind it would change that. Jumped on the website today just after receiving this hoping to order it in another color but they're all sold out in my size! Jump on it while you can!

Tried this on in the store in large and it was super big for me even tho I take a large in FP. Waited a long time to order the medium - still too big and sent it back. Decided to buy the small based on reviews I had read here and I was SO happy I stuck with it and got the right size. This skirt is killer and once you get the right size, it wont feel like there is too much material and it wont be as long on you either.
I am 5 ft 4 inches and the small was exactly long enough for me. If I wear heels, I will not have to pick the skirt up at all when walking and if I dont wear heels - the skirt just grazes the floor.
DO NOT WAIT to buy this skirt if you like to have a statement piece in your wardrobe and like to be a bit different. This is not an everyday item but will be fantastic for festivals and rock shows or just going out for dinner. I live in LA so this type of thing rocks in my city.
Stick it out to find your right size cause when you do, you will LOVE THIS!
