"This dress is so comfortable and warm. The collar is great. I'm 5'5" 125 lbs and the small fits great. There seems to be a lot of fabric on the skirt part of the dress though and even in the waist. That problem is easily fixed by wearing a waist belt. Great piece overall."

Stylish & Comfortable for Winter!

"I'm a dress lover. You can imagine what my least favorite season of the year is--winter. The winter blues definitely kick in for me when the air gets too chilly for springy apparel. Fortunately, Free People (my absolute FAVORITE store in the mall) came out with this warm cocoon dress. It's the perfect hybrid between a warm, thick sweater and a light, flowing dress. Winter and I have a much easier time getting along now that I have this dress in my wardrobe. For those of you out there that are on the fence, heed my advice--buy it--you won't regret it!"

"I bought this one for the lovely lavender colour. I really love bright winter coats, and I have an array of eye-popping colours; electric blue, royal purple & tangerine among my favourites. But, come winter, I get a bit of fashion-block and just opt for all-black clothes underneath these bright coats. Which is fine. Until you take the coat off and you're in all black, all day - making an already depressing season even worse. I wanted an easy-to-wear dress that was an off-beat colour, but could be paired with a variety of popping colours. This cocoon dress is perfect! The lavender is more like lavender-grey and utterly lovely against a bolder colour palette. The dress does run a little large (very long sleeves), and it is a bit big around the waist. When I wear this I'll have to either wear a belt or pair with a short blazer, to nip in the waist and give some definition (mind you - this dress is apart of the Free People Beach collection - and beach clothes are meant to be a bit looser). Regardless, I love this dress for the scoop neck (handy in winter) and unique colour. Great buy."

"Got this dress in the greyish color and though I was nervous before it came in the mail I love, love, LOVE it. The cut and style are just short of being too "fairy-ish", and works well dressed up or dressed down.
I got the M (I'm 5'3") and the dress hangs well at at an appropriate length; it's the tiniest bit loose, but still looks form-fitting without being ridiculously tight. The material is fabulous, and I've gotten compliments every time I've worn it. The only reason I put 4/5 stars is because the dress arrived with a small hole in it (unfortunately not on, but directly next to the seem), but I was able to fix it myself without any problems."

"I got the cocoon dress is a size small in the lavender color. First of all the color is lighter then appears in the picture, but I personally like it better.
I'm normally a size 4/6 in free people dresses, tshirt size s. This dress is pretty lose around my waist, I probably could have ordered the extra small but the bust is fine. (I'm a 32 DD)
Besides that, I love this dress it's super comfortable and looks great with everything."

"The dress is comfortable, and fit well in my true size small, and I love the cowl that doubles as a hood. However, I am only 5'8" and found the dress to be so short it looks like a chemise. The label is FP Beach so perhaps it isn't meant to be worn as a day dress, but more like lounge wear. Not sure if I will keep it at this pricepoint."

"It runs big, so if you're small up top then definitely size down. I don't tend to think of myself as having a small waist (I carry most of my weight in my lower abdominal area) but even in a size small the dress is a bit loose around the small of my waist. The skirt also has a lot of fabric. I could see it being more flattering on me if the skirt wasn't quite so full. However, it's still really cute and comfortable."
