They weren't kidding when they wrote a notice about this running huge! For comparison there's the Golden Quills parka-a popular jacket on this site, that runs pretty big, well this one is even bigger! I'm a small girl, only 100 pounds and there's absolutely no way I'll be able to pull this off, it downright swallowed me. A real shame since I like the style a lot. If you're normally a M or above then you'll fit into an XS, anyone smaller than that will need to get it tailored. Can't make a definite judgment on the quality since it was impossible for me to wear it but based on first impressions it's ok.

I fell in love with this coat online and was thrilled when FP Paramus had it in stock. Based on the description online and the reviews I wanted to try it on in person. Oh boy does this baby run BIG! I ended up going with a S. It is a stunning jacket and I can't wait for it to be cool enough to wear. It's not super heavy but it feels pretty warm and you have room to layer without feeling like the stay puft marshmallow man :) I have another roomy FP cargo jacket from a couple seasons ago that is an 8 and I would say this coat in a S is just a touch larger. I typically wear a M or L in FP depending on the fit. For reference: 5"11 36D / 28" waist / 40" hips / 159lb.

Loving this! Bought recently, this coat is great, it's so warm, very roomy, vey 60's and can be worn over top of big sweaters, layered up, and looks awesome with boots. However- when they say 'extremely oversized silhouette' they mean it, I bought this in a small, and I love the oversized style, but if you're wanting a more fitted look, definitely size down one or two sizes. Overall a great buy.

I admit I was warned but when I got the coat it was ridiculously large I'm 5'6' and weigh about 120 lbs..I am not all that petite. I was swimming in it; lost in a see of fabric with a hugely puckered waistband. Would not encourage smaller type people to purchase this item

First of all, yes. It runs large. If you are a super skinny girl, you will get lost in this jacket, unless perhaps you are tall.
I'm 5'5 and 145 lbs and got the XS and it fits well. I usually wear S/M in FP clothing but this is definitely one of the larger items I've purchased from FP.
I got it in the oatmeal color and it goes well with everything. It's definitely my favorite coat for fall!

This is way better than I imagined. So incredibly soft and cozy. Definitely oversized, but works perfectly for the slouchy, open look. I am 5'2, 115 lbs, and got the xs in oatmeal. Love the color, a soft neutral that will go with anything but a warm enough beige that doesn't wash me out. Great fall/early winter jacket!

I tried this coat on in red in the store. The fabric felt thick and nice, and I liked the big hood. Once it was on, though, it was just a no. I'm 5'10 and 127 lbs and the Small was huge. I knew if I went down to an XS the sleeves would have been too short, but I honestly think the proportions are just a bit off. It's incredibly wideâthere's a ton of fabricâand I didn't like the way it looked cinched with the drawstring ties in front. I thought it looked cuter just open or with the button across the front, but that wouldn't have been that practical and I was definitely still swimming in it. I like this style in theory but the execution is just off.

This is one of those great FP pieces that the website doesn't do justice and you have to see in stores to appreciate the quality and design. Yes, it's oversized. But at 5'1" and petite, the XS works even on me. I just rolled up the sleeves one cuff (which shows the nice lining underneath) and voile. It's roomy enough for those oversized winter sweaters and for Free People, the price is actually pretty reasonable for something as often-worn as a coat. I'll be wearing this all season long.
