Got this in the mail in black today and I really like the style. Nicely tailored and somewhat antiquarian and goth. The quilted fabric is soft and comfortable, almost like a sweatshirt without looking like one. The ruffles seemed a little much when I put it on at first but as soon as I steamed them they all settled down and layer on the hips perfectly. This will for sure be one of the items I pack to head to Europe for six weeks for work this fall!

I bought this jacket from the store and it was sold out. I had it sent to my house. I LOVE IT...I'm so glad that i bought it. I purchased it in black in a size 2. I get so many compliments on it...I might buy it in ivory. DON'T PASS ON IT.
Rated 4 out of 5Â by dwolfett Fantastic jacket the 6 & 8 sizes issues...
I got this in a 6 and its a little tight in the sleeves so putting anything under it that is thick is a no go. I love this piece so i ordered it in an 8 thinking it would be looser so i could wear a sweater underneath if I choose. The 8 fits like the 6 and oddly the 6 feels looser. So is the 8 a mismarked 6 or are they the same. I thought to order a 10 but all these reviews are confusing. I wish the local store had these so i could try a bunch on and get the fit im seeking. I returned the 8 and still love the 6 but a sweater under it will not ever work.
Im 135 lbs 5'3" and a 34B. I normally wear a small in tops here sometimes a medium if they run to tight and Im a 6 usually in dresses. I wish this jacket ran more consistent in size and as always the sleeves on most FP stuff is way to tight. I get lots of complements on this jacket and wanted another to as back up if this falls apart. I wish it was in chocolate or red or white to. The only reason I gave this 4 stars is the inconsistent sizing other that that this is a 5 star jacket.

I'm 5'7, 148, 34B bust, average build and pretty consistently a size 10. Ordered this in a 10 and it fits (it buttons without pulling or puckering), but I'd only be able to wear it over a very lightweight layer, even unbuttoned. Arms are very narrow. I just prefer my jackets to have a little more ease in them--would consider keeping it if I knew for sure that the knit would relax with a wearing or two, but that's an expensive gamble. :)
Sleeves are also short on me--they don't hit my wrist bones. I tend to push all my sleeves up so this isn't necessarily a deal-breaker.
Color is also not a solid jet black. It's almost weathered to a charcoal grey in some spots, making the garment feel a little less polished? Less Sophisticated? Can't put my finger on it but I would prefer a uniform black. Looking back at the pics online I see that now, so, my mistake.
Overall, not sure if I love it enough to justify the cost. It's very pretty but ultimately probably not a keeper.

I am 5'4, about 126lb, 34C. usually wear S in Free People. I ordered the jacket in Mauve size 4, and it did fit exactly to my body, meaning, I could only wear a tank top underneath, nothing else. Even with the semi-tight fit, the stretch in the arm/shoulder area was comfortable. Color was just like pictured, but I didn't see myself getting a lot of wear out if it. Therefore, I exchanged it for size 6 in Black. I want to be able to wear something else besides a tank top underneath it for cooler months, and, for me, the Black one will go with more outfits than Mauve.
Now I only have to wait when it ships as it is currently back ordered :(

I bought the black in a size 2 but found it too roomy..specifically around the waist; the shoulders and bust area fit well and sleeve length is perfect.
The jacket is stretchy as it has an expandable panel on either side of the "bodice" from the armpits to the waist so I personally don't think you would need to size up. I thought to exchange it for a size 0 but instead moved all the buttons an inch! I am 112lb, 5ft6" and am average in girth all around, ie 33-24.5-35. Love the juxtaposition of stoic military and feminine ruffles..:)
Rated 4 out of 5Â by longhair cool fit but slopping stitching
I tried on the black, in store. There were maybe 5 black ones on the rack and each one had noticeably sloppy stitching (including one collar that had a lump of fabric protruding because of incompetent sewing). Loose thread was entwined in several places as well. As far as the fit it was really flattering and pretty. So.. I wasn't enthralled enough to buy at full price, but considering the positive reviews, this item probably won't hit the sales.
Rated 5 out of 5Â by fhg Simply Stunning in Black
I originally bought this in the olive along with the sweater the model was wearing. The ruffles on the olive did not match the sweater like in the picture - at all.. So I kept the sweater (stunning too) and returned the jacket. I bought the black instead.. The pictures don't do it justice. It is simply stunning in black. I sized up to allow for layers I'm 5'4, 115 & a 34B. I bought a size 6. - a perfect fit over a sweater, or top...Love love this jacket!! You just can't tell from the picture- until you put it on!!!
