Go to a Free People store for these if you can! They are beautiful if you happen to come upon the good stock of these earrings. I had initially ordered a blue pair from the website and the pair I received was
NOTHING like what was in the picture. They were tiny and looked like opaque rocks, nothing like the clear blue crystal in the photos on the website. I promptly returned them at a store which they took back with no problem. A few weeks later I spotted these earrings at a Free People store on display. I asked if I could see the others they had in the back stock. They were all very beautiful, crystal clear just like in the photos AND also varied greatly in shape and size. I almost had trouble picking out one pair because they all looked so lovely.

I agree with a previous reviewer that if given the choice to select the stones we personally prefer, we all might be happier. The garnets don't have much color or shine, they're pretty small, and probably the most interesting thing is that they actually are different shapes...that's kind of the only way you can tell they're minerals. I guess I'd be happier keeping them if they'd been on sale, because they aren't attention-getting like I thought they would be from the photos.

i purchased the Herkimer diamond studs and i couldn't be happier. They are not exactly as pictured - one is slightly bigger than the other (but just barely), they do have some grey inclusions in them (which i actually like), but no problem for me - natural stones means that no two are alike, right? They are big but not heavy and go with everything, I've been wearing mine every day (with some other styles that I also bought from FP) and I get non-stop compliments on them. Also they come on a cute card with a description of the stone attached, so really nice to give as a gift. Pricey but worth it, in my opinion!

Mine were also more milky and grey than pictured. One of the stones has some interesting carbon inclusions in it that I like a lot. The other stone has a crystal 'tumor' growing on the face of it that is kind of ugly and features no carbon whatsoever so it sort of clashes. The backs are snug but have a tendency to get twisted vertically onto the posts which is annoying and makes them feel cheaper. Working in jewelry for a long time I can vouch that the diamonds seem authentic, although they are what is normally considered 'industrial quality.' To be honest that was what drew me to them, I always enjoyed the personality in raw, blemished gemstones. The only real disappointment in these was the awkward crystal growth on the face of one of my studs.

i ordered these in the diamond white and they have some grey in them. they are still crystal looking but they are almost grey/charcoal crystal. They are still beautiful but not what the description said. I am sure every pair is different but just dont expect them to be so clear.

I got the clear studs in the mail yesterday. Cute but expensive for what I got. They're almost so see through that you barely notice you're wearing earrings but they'll basically match with everything.
