"Hi! Parasols are meant to provide protection from the sun; we checked and there are no holes, rips, or tears in the item. There are open areas that would allow sunlight to pass through, so minimal protection would be provided. Hope this helps!"

"Hello!! Due to the delicate nature of this parasol, we would not recommend the use of this in the rain. By definition, a parasol is used mainly as a shield from the sun, and this piece would be a beautiful way to block any harmful rays! Hope this helps!! xoxo"
