What payment methods do you accept?

We accept: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, PayPal, Free People Gift Cards and Store Merchandise Credit Cards.

Will I be charged tax?

We are required to collect local sales tax in states where Free People has a physical presence. We collect tax for deliveries to the following states AZ, CA, CO, CT, GA, IL, MD, MA, MI, NV, NJ, NY, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, VA & WA.

Oklahoma sales tax

We are not obligated to, and do not, collect Oklahoma sales tax. Your purchase is subject to Oklahoma sales tax unless it is specifically exempt from taxation. The purchase is not exempt merely because it is made over the Internet or by other remote means. The State of Oklahoma requires that the taxpayer file a sales/use tax return at the end of the year reporting all of the purchases that were not taxed and pay tax on those purchases. Retailers that do not collect Oklahoma sales tax are obligated to provide purchasers an end-of-year summary of purchases in order to assist purchasers in filing their tax report. Details of how to file this return may be found at the Oklahoma Tax Commission's website http://www.tax.ok.gov. Retailers that do not collect Oklahoma sales tax are required by law to provide the Oklahoma Department of Revenue with a report of the total amount of all of your purchases at the end of the year above certain thresholds set by the Oklahoma Department of Revenue.

How will I know that my order was accepted?

After you click "Submit Order" an e-mail confirmation will be sent. You can also check the status of your order by logging into My Account. Click on "Order History" to review order status and to obtain a tracking number.

How can I change or cancel my order?

Please call us at 800-309-1500 immediately after placing your order to make any changes. There may be some instances where we are unable to modify your order, we apologize for any inconvenience and will do our best to assist you.

When will I be charged?

Once your order has shipped, your credit card will be charged. You will only be charged for the items that are shipped to you, along with appropriate shipping and tax, where applicable.

My item is backordered. What does that mean?

We sometimes have merchandise for sale that has not yet been received at our distribution center, or that has sold out and is being restocked. You can still order these items to reserve your favorite color or size, and then we'll ship it to you when supplies are replenished.

The expected ship date for backordered merchandise is listed when you add an item to your basket and during checkout. We will contact you via email if the date changes

Backordered items cannot be expedited and will ship via standard shipping when they arrive. We will contact you via email if the item's due date changes.

Gift wrap options

Let us take care of the wrapping! For a $4 charge, your item will be wrapped in hot pink tissue and placed in our muslin gift bag. Our cream colored bag is printed with a pink and teal boho design and has colorful yarn drawstring ties. Best of all, the bag can be used over and over again!

We also offer a "Self Wrap" option. For a $3 charge, we will send you all of the fixings above for you to wrap the item yourself. (Kit includes 1 gift bag, tissue paper and stickers.)

Price adjustment policy

Should an item from the website or catalogue be marked down please contact us within 14 days from the date of shipment, we will honor a one time price adjustment. Credits will be applied back to the original form of payment. If you paid with a gift card, a new card will be issued for the amount of the credit. Please contact us to request a price adjustment.

We are unable to process price adjustments for merchandise purchased at our Free People boutiques. Please contact the store directly for assistance.

Please note, we are unable to offer price adjustments for temporary promotions or discounts. Promotions or discounts cannot be applied retroactively to orders placed before the promotion discount was activated.
