It's a soft material. This is by the "we the free" line.
It's true to size. I wear a size 27 pant and I got these in a size S. It's a little tight so if you want loose I would go a size bigger. Other than that, it's pretty comfortable. I'm not going to return it. I originally wanted it in the white color but went with the blue since white might be hard to maintain. These shorts are comfy though!
