"I love these boots!
Like some of the other reviews say, the brown color isn't exactly as shown in the picture. It is a little bit grey-ish, not such a warm, shiny brown. They are still gorgeous, though! I love them.
I've worn them with short skirts, dresses and shorts so far and they are amazing! So cute, and very comfy.
I am usually a 9, but ordered the 9.5 because they were out of my size. They fit perfectly, though, so perhaps they run a little small."

Uhm....I'm confused

"By habit, I read the reviews prior to purchase, but because I wanted these boots so badly I ignored the majority negative feedback. Sad to report that the the pair of boots I ordered were supposed to be the chocolate brown and unfortunately, as I read on the feedback they did turn out to be this odd gray. I'm going to keep them because I don't deal with returns well, but now fear that I will not deal with the company in the future if they cannot properly represent their product."

Sorry about the discrepancy! We double checked this item and the brown does appear to be brown in our warehouse, so it's possible that you were sent the incorrect color. Contact service@freepeople.com and they can help you with the return/exchange process!

"I am absolutely IN LOVE with these boots. They look even better in person then online. I ordered them in taupe and they're a tad lighter than in the picture. They do run a little small so I would get a half size bigger tan your usual size. These truly are my favorite boots right now. They look great with everything and they're sooooo cute! I would definitely recommend these boots to anyone!"

"I ordered the brown...I agree with the other reviews, the color is a grey-ish brown, not at all warm and cognac like the pictures. BUT...I do like the ashy brown...its actually kind of nice and certainly different! The shoe fits TTS and the shaft is loose but I like the way it slouches just a bit. Unique and absolutely attention getting...I haven't worn these out yet without being complimented repeatedly! They are super easy with dresses, leggings, tights and I even wore them over some super skinny jeans...versatile and fun. I paid 129$ and see they are now on sale so I wish I had waited a bit but now that they are CHEAP...buy em!"

"I ordered the Dark Taupe. The color pictured online is nothing like the one I received. Dark taupe is almost like a drab military olive brown, with lots of grey. It's NOT a warm cognac brown.
The boots are very nice, although the stitching quality is so-so. They also fit true to size."

"I ordered a pair of these and they came looking like someone wore them and got dirt on them, so I called & asked for a brown pair, but instead got another pair of dirty white ones. The dirt doesn't look like a worn look, it's on the heels and/or toes and looks like you'd need to get them polished or appear as if you're wearing boots with stains. Now, I have to wait until I can get to the post office and for both pairs to be rec'd. before being sent another pair in black, if they happen to be still in stock. What a disappointing shopping experience!"
