Rated 5 out of 5Â by skinnylegs Fabulous pair of boots!
These boots are great. I purchased the taupe pair. The leather is high quality and the colored was exactly as shown on the website. I have skinny calves and they fit my legs perfectly; being able to lace them as tight as they could go helped with the fit. The are very stylish and I plan to wear them to work, on the weekends, and going out at night. They look great with dresses, skirts and even skinny jeans. They did feel a little snug around the toes, but not enough to send them back. As I wore them they begin to loosen up. I love, love, love them so much that I splurged and ordered another pair in black today. I have made several purchases from FP, but this is the first time that I felt the need to write a review. They are worth every penny!

by fiiimac Don't know if I can handle it...
These boots are A LOT of boot. Nearly everyone I met today either mentioned or stared at them; so much that I almost felt like a vehicle for them instead of the other way around. They actually eclipse the girl. And I generally love slightly unusual and eye-catching stuff â feathered hats, sequins, leopard print and faux fur â but I don't know how I feel about being upstaged by my clothes. Do you know what I mean? A big part of it is the super distinctive natural-blue color (which is actually really amazing and looks like a kickass update to antique granny boots. And the dye didn't stain anything, like other reviews experienced). Other details: I am a 7-7.5 and bought these in a 7, and they're a little roomy without stretching, so I'd say they run a bit big. And zippers are definitely flimsy, but replaceable. One odd thing: my pair came with one silver-toned eyelet amongst the rows and rows of brass. So odd! I actually think it's kind of cute â like having different-colored eyes â but it's still a flaw. All in all, I haven't yet decided if I can get over the price to keep these boots, especially considering that people don't even notice the rest of me when I'm wearing them (and I had a very sexy dress on today!), but if you're up for it, go for it. They really are fantastic.

by maggie_318 Awesome boots but not worth $300
When I saw them online, I knew I had to get a pair! Waited months until they go on sale and finally found a pair on sale for $199 at a local boutique. They only had size 8 and I was afraid it would be too small but actually I was surprised how perfect the fit was! I normally wear 9 in boots (40 European or UK 6) but this 8 fits great.
I am giving it only 4 stars because the quality doesn't match the price. In my opinion, they should not cost more than $169. The leather is thin, the sole is glued, made in China. The khaki color looks like dark grey online but in person it is more like a pine green with a combination of charcoal.
I have long legs so these don't quite go over my knees (see attached picture).
These boots draw attention; they are comfy, too. I am very happy with the purchase but if you consider getting a pair, I suggest you wait until they go on sale.

As a lover of great boots, my favorites till now were the Miss Albright's Winding Ruffle Boots from Anthropologie a couple of seasons ago. These are my new favorites ! I always wear an 8.5, and when I ordered these, they only came in whole sizes. I originally ordered the Taupe in an 8 hoping they would work since they were the last pair in Taupe available. With socks however, they were too small, :( and after a short meltdown, I decided to return them to my local Free People store to order my next fav color, the black/brown combination in a size 9. What a great move that was, they are perfect ! I am 5'7" and have average size legs, I wear a size S or M in clothes. These are absolutely the coolest boots I've ever purchased. I am so thrilled to own them, they are perfect with skinny jeans, or a trapeze top a short billowy dress. I'm ordering the Mustard/Brown too and if the Taupe becomes available again, I plan on ordering them too ! If you're a boot lover and wear them often like I do, I highly recommend these ! They are definitely worth it !
Rated 3 out of 5Â by Stephine Knee high boots but quality falls a little short!
I had been in love with these boots for over a year but couldn't force myself purchase them. As they ran out of the khaki color, the one I so desired, I regretted my decision. I am in TN but phoned stores in NY and CA to track a pair down. Nothing worked. Then one day, out of no where, there was a size 9 khaki on the website so I rushed to order. Thought a 9 was perfect after reading nearly every review but the were way too big! I kept those (the 9) and ordered an 8 in the blue and neutral.
The 8 fits MUCH better but still a little big in the toe.
Immediately I could tell a difference in the two pair of boots. The leather on the khaki is much thicker, the zipper is a bit more heavy duty, even the laces were thicker- But regardless the sole is a utter disappointment! I'm not convinced that the heel is wood more like composite material. and the sole is just a thin piece of rubber. Let me put it to you like this, these are FASHION BOOTS ONLY!! I absolutely LOVE the look of these boots and they fit nice but I DO NOT think the quality lives up to price.
Rated 4 out of 5Â by MGiovanna Good boots, run small
I have been looking for a tall lace-up boot and after trying the James and the Johnny, have settled on these in khaki. I took a while to get round to them as I really don't need a new pair of black boots and I thought the khaki looked a bit drab: I need not have worried, they are a nice subtle but quite rich shade of olive (not at all brown), the heel is darker than it appears on screen, which is actually much nicer, and they seem to go with everything. The leather is supple, certainly in comparison to the James which is stiff, and if not what I would call the finest quality, it's still very nice, looks good on and is comfortable to wear. I think they are a little more flattering than the suede Johnny boots, where the hardware is quite bulky in comparison to these. The Joe runs small like the James: for comparison, I have Minimal Heel 10, Perspective Heel 10, Ex Ex Heel 9.5, found the Johnny best in 10, but needed an 11 in these (and found the James way too small in 10 but couldn't get 11). I liked the height of the heel of the James better but these are still elegant and cute, and the comfort is superior. They are also sturdier than the Johnny boots I tried. On balance these are the best choice for me and I would recommend them.
Rated 5 out of 5Â by maumpierre I love these!!
I ordered the Khaki and it is true that the color does not look like the color in the picture, it does have some dark olive-ish green tint to it but these boots are still amazing! I find them extremely comfortable and so much fun to wear. Despite the color, I can pick out a couple of outfits that would completely match my Khaki Joe Lace Up Boots. They fit me perfectly and look great on me even though I am only 4'11". I love these so much, these are officially my new favorite boots and the money spent was worth it. When I get home from running errands or from class, I don't want to take them off because I absolutely love how they look! I truly recommend these boots to anyone considering purchasing these. Just keep in mind that the Khaki is not exactly quite as pictured.

I sized up to a 10, usually I wear a 9.5 and they were perfect. I knew J. Campbell can run small and fit a slimmer foot. The picture is perfect showing the lighter black tones and distressed look. I am 5'9" and they fit nicely above the knee. They are worth the price and you DESERVE them so buy them!!
