Rated 3 out of 5Â by theprinceshome WAY WAY TOO LARGE
I ordered the black version of this dress and after reading the reviews I ordered on the small side. It was still about 3 SIZES TOO LARGE!!! How can they get this so wrong?? Its a beautifully made dress, but it looked like a sack on me. And it would be impossible to take it in without ruining the pattern around the base.
I'm losing faith in Free People. I've had to return the last 3 things they've sent me. Its time consuming and annoying. they have lovely stuff - but it never fits!!!!

I have several crochet pieces from FP - this is the best. Heavy crochet, does not stretch out (like some others I have), and does not feel at all fragile (but don't catch it on the door nob, etc... obviously).
The fit is a bit large - I usually buy a 6 (35, 27, 38 - 5'7" 140 extreme pear) and I bought a 4 (the 6's were sold out).
The 4 fits fine, and I probably could've even sized down to a 2. If I did the 6 I would have probably needed to belt it, so I'm glad I got the four.
The white one is my fav. The red is lovely, but the fabric is not as soft - almost as though the dye made it stiffer.
I like to be able to mix and match the slip, but the slips for these are dyed to match and are higher quality than most FP under-slips. Soft, silky, and perfectly matched the the vee-front.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this dress! The first time I tried it on I wasn't sure - it seemed to kind of hang there with no shape, but then I changed out the slip that comes with it for a bodycon slip that fits snug, and it changed the entire look of the dress. The lace outer dress is a heavy cotton that holds it's shape and won't snag easily and the detailing on the sleeves and hem is beautiful. It looks great with boots and booties and also with more dainty shoes for a dressier look. I usually wear a size S in FP and ordered the size 6 (5'7" 130 lbs) and the fit is comfortable - not too loose not too fitted. Highly recommend - even thinking about getting the rust color...

Absolutely stunning. I love how gorgeous and casual it is simultaneously. The wine color is just yummy yummy yummy. I'm a size 4 but the 0 was a good fit. Not too fitted or relaxed. Just skimmed my curves. However there is a tad too much room in the cut, hence the 4 stars.

I fell in love with this dress in the red as soon as I saw it, but I never spend anything like this much on a dress since I rarely wear them. I kept telling myself it would not work on me (I'm 5' tall with a 32DD bust), but in the end I had to try it. I got my usual dress size 4 and the fit was perfect. This dress is absolutely gorgeous in person. The red is deep and vibrant, and the workmanship is outstanding. It looks delicate, but it's not. The lace/crochet is very sturdy and well made. I did find the slip to be a bit too big, but as another reviewer suggested, I tried another FP bodycon slip under the dress and it looked even better. It is long on me, but that works in this style of dress, and it looks amazing with tall boots. The fit is relaxed, so if you are slim on top or small busted, you can probably size down one or two sizes, depending on how loose you like the fit. The only thing I didn't really like was the zipper. I didn't think it was needed because I was able to just slip the dress over my head, and mine was a bit bumpy from being folded. I think it will straighten out after hanging for a while. Other than that, I can't say enough good things about this dress.
Rated 4 out of 5Â by blackferns extremely big! and without the slip!
like the other reviews, the dress is really, REALLY big. i'm about 5'3" and somewhere around 110 pounds (normally a 2) and the 00 petite is still a bit roomy. it's such a beautiful dress; however, when i received it, it didn't come with the slip it says is included! i'll be be returning it as soon as possible.

This is a beautiful dress. Very comfy and easy to dress up or down. I have worn it many times now with many compliments and questions. I bought ivory and sized down 2 sizes for a fit more like the girl with the dark hair and colourful bag. I love the over-sized look of the blonde model and i originally went with a bigger size but it didn't work so well for me...too big in the shoulders and low in the chest....generally unflattering. Watch out when washing the slip that comes with it though. I didn't read the instructions and shrunk it. Luckily I have another that is actually a better slip for the dress.

Beautiful style and very flattering to the curvier figure, and I'm sure to all other body types as well. Love this dress. I got it in the black and in the ivory some months ago, and recently found myself wondering why I hadn't worn them yet. Tried them on again and realized I hadn't got them styled to my satisfaction yet, and that although they are four-season dresses, for me they will come into their own in autumn/winter with opaques and knee boots. I'm UK 14/16 36/38C, US 10/12, FP M/L. I tried the 10 and 12 which both fit, the 10 more fitted, the 12 looser and more skimming. I don't see this as a fitted style so went with the 12. I kept thinking the ivory in particular made me look a little ... shapeless ... and wide... I am curvy but with a fairly trim waist. I tried putting the black slip from the other dress on instead of the ivory it came with. Magic. Completely transformed the look, way more flattering. You could put any black slip under, bodycon (not for me) or just nipped in a little at the waist, it wouldn't have to come from another Mi Amore. Then I tried putting the tan Hudson hip belt over, but higher up the waist and pulled tighter. Really like the look this gives the dress, and on the black too. Now I really feel like me in these and will wear them loads. So tempted by the new taupe version, but having pretty much completely, rather obsessively and somewhat extravagantly re-equipped my tired wardrobe since FP started shipping to the UK (I'm thinking investment: expecting to wear this stuff for years), it has to stop somewhere ...
