The dress is as lovely as it looks in the photo and the embroidery large-stitched but elaborate. It appears to be done by hand. The cotton was cool and refreshing to wear on a humid Christmas Day in Auckland, and as other purchasers have mentioned, the side pieces are unusual yet add something to the flow and shape. I found that the drawstring at the back didn't pull it in much, but I prefer the loose shape anyway. 1.4.2012

I plan on taking it in a bit at the sides (a really easy alteration) to get rid of the extra side panels as they won't do my thighs any favors... With those out of the way and a brown belt it will be absolutely amazing! I am 5'2" and 130 and I got a small. It is really long and loose but I like that :) 12.15.2011

The sleeves are a perfect length and the cut of the dress is very flattering, although a bit loose. I think it is a beautiful dress, but I don't like the side panels. They are really very large and wide and I think the dress would look much better if they were smaller or altogether absent. 12.15.2011

The embroidery is of high quality,...not just some mild blue stitching but fine stitching that makes it, of course, an obviously unique free-people choice. I am tan/light brown skinned and I do notice the dress is SLIGHTLY see through,...enough to wear an undergarment? Nah, just not a white bra. This is pretty. I am short, very busty,...and it still looked flowing just like the model. I m 5'1" with 38D chest. I think this dress works on anyone as long as it is not tight but flowing. I wear a size 8-10 petite, size 8 misses and ordered the large. I don't like things too fitting and wanted to achieve the "loose, free-people look". So the large did the job. It also made my bust look appropriate for what the designer, I'm sure, wanted to achieve. Nice dress. Gives the flowing, loose, not hugging figure look. Flattering because of the material and unique drape. What you see on the model is what you get. Nothing more, nothing less. 11.30.2011

Rated 5 out of 5Â by adorevintage I'm in a Folkloric Fairytale I was having a rather bad day and when I arrived home there was a pretty brown package from Free People waiting for me. *spirits lifted* Hooray! This dress is extremely comfortable, it's gauzy cotton, or at least it feels like it. I love the shape and cut of this dress, it reminds me a bit of something ladies would have worn on a casual summer day in the early 1900s. I suppose it's quite bohemian as well, but since I'm a gal who loves early 20th century fashions, I prefer to make that connection. There are little ties in the back, I thought at first it was a drawstring that went through the WHOLE waist, but it's only in the back. I wish it did go through the whole waistline, but I just wrapped the strings around my waist instead and tied the bow in the front. I only posted this runs "a little bit loose" because I'm a very petite gal. (5'0 - 98lbs) so this dress hits right at the ankles but still short enough to wear with sandals or dressed up with platforms. A total bargain at $30 if you ask me! You absolutely must have this, it's so pretty! 11.29.2011

The embroidery is just exquisite. It has a very ethnic feel. Looks prettier on shapelier girls than the tall thin girl in the picture. Highly recommend. 11.20.2011

The neckline is so feminine and attractive. This dress is a great mix of bohemian and ladylike styles. It has a wonderful fit and is that midi/tea length. The adjustable drawstring in the back of the dress allows you to have the perfect fit for you. The side panels add a little something quirky and unique to the dress. Proper ironing will allow them to flow at your sides and not add weight to your hips. A HUGE score at the sale price! 11.20.2011
