I hate writing this review because I absolutely love Free People and do not really shop anywhere else but this jacket was so disappointing. It is very cute, comfortable and soft, but so poorly made. I bought it a month ago and a week after having it my Grandmother noticed several holes in the material that were not located at points of stress. My Mom told me I should just return the jacket because it was pricey and clearly not worth it. I opted to have my Grandmother fix the holes because I loved the jacket so much. I wish I had listened to my Mom and returned the jacket because the material just keeps ripping in other places and I have to keep sewing them. I still have the jacket but it definitely was not worth the price and I wish I had returned it when it started falling apart.

I had read the reviews indicating that this jacket is too large/boxy looking and that the colors are off/not as pictured. I decided to buy it anyway in the brown color, and love it. I found the color to be true to the online pictures and FP me pics. However, the hood is made from very soft yarn, and the color of that is more of a dirty/washed out cream, which gives it a more vintage look. The jacket is not lined with the yarn (just the hood). It is a bit thin, but made of 100% wool so it is warm enough for a chilly fall night, but would not recommend for winter weather. I love the fit b/c it is soft, loose, and comfortable (this is not a fitted jacket). I ordered an XS, and found the fit to be very cute. For reference, I am between 5'2-5'3, 105 lbs with a very small waist (23) and still found this fit to be perfect for me-not too long and not too short, loose enough to layer underneath, and kind of looks like a poncho buttoned up (which I like). The arms are a bit tighter, so it may make it challenging to layer it with something with bulky sleeves. Overall, this jacket is so cute, soft and cozy that I don't want to take it off (it feels like a big, comfy warm sweater,) and look forward to indulging in it for as long as I can!

The body is oversized but the sleeves are very slim with little stretch. I'm usually a L but went with a M. I kinda wish I got the L due to the sleeves but I can still definitely get away with the med. the hood is amazingly oversized and the fuzzy lining is actually fuzzy knitted chunky yarn. Over all I'm just in love. Also the light brown does not look as grey as the photos. It's more of a tan

The one you see on the model in brown is not the one you will receive! Here are the differences:
1) Color is different on both the outer shell and in the hood.
2) There is no fleece on the inside that you can see on the close ups of the model.
3)The lining of the hood itself is completely different material. It is just YARN woven in rows! In the picture you see a nice even hood lining that is made of something else entirely.
4) The prominent edges around the cuff are not prominent.
*If you are determined to have this coat refer to the navy blue stock photos and not the brown.
I AM SO DISAPPOINTED :(
I can't even make myself like this coat even a little. It just looks sloppy.

The pictures represent the jacket well. My advice is to order a size down as this is very oversized- so much so that I had to return my Small.

I ordered this wonderful jacket, the fit was true to size! I changed my mind numerous times, I sent it back, then decided to keep it, but just could not justify the price!! I ordered the blue color. In the future if comes available I may order again!! Shelley

I am about 5'4" so the extra small was too short in my arms and a little too fitted around my torso. I have been eyeing this jacket since we got it in store and I finally gave in and bought it in the navy. It is a lighter blue than pictured (not a significant difference) and very cozy. It is the perfect jacket for a California girl! It is easy to layer and would be a warm enough coat to take up to Tahoe for the winter. It is perfectly fitted on my frame and shows my figure still, however, if you are petite and like things super fitted it probably is not the coat for you.

For $200, i wanted to love this. I tried to love this. The top half is so soft and comfy it's like the best baby blanket you could ever have. But the actual jacket isn't well made. It looks sloppy. So sad. I wanted to love it. I really did.
