First of all, let me say that I have been shopping at FP for years. There is a certain feel/fit to their clothing that I am used to. This dress, since it is made by Dress the Population, has a different feel that may surprise buyers (not because it's bad, it just didn't have the standard details I was expecting). For instance, this dress has one of those thick stretchy elastic bands at the top, which squeezes the area above your chest. I am not a huge fan of that because if you have ANY excess fat it doesn't look good. I have a small waist and big hips, so while most of the dress hugged my figure as it should, the "lace" part at the waist sticks out because there isn't anything filling it- so beware if you have an hourglass figure! I am 5'2" 130 lbs and I usually fit XS, S, 2, 4, or 6 depending on the brand. I went with a S, and some areas were tight while the waist was loose. The quality of this dress is excellent- thick and body sculpting- but for the high price and the weird fit, I have to return it. I was so excited for this dress... hopefully it works better for others!

First of all, I waited two weeks for this dress. It shipped from Atlanta, which is a three hour drive from my house, and yet that UPSMI shipping service completely lost it. The event I wanted to wear it to was over by the time I got the dress. However, I excitedly ripped open the package thinking I'll keep it and wear it somewhere else another time.
Unfortunately, even though I ordered my regular FP size (S, and sometimes I get an XS), this dress is impossible to put on.There's no back zipper or anything, and the material is thick and not as stretchy as you'd think. I couldn't pull it up over my hips without risking ripping the lace, and I couldn't pull it down past my shoulders/boob area. In fact, I got stuck in it and had a panic attack because it was so confining and I couldn't get out.
If I'd ordered two sizes up from my regular size, maybe I could get it on, but then it would have been too big for sure. This might work if you have absolutely no boobs or hips and you can pull it up or down past those areas. And keep in mind, I'm a long and lean girl (built just about like the model, actually).
The quality wasn't what I'd expect for 150 dollars, either. And I didn't realize it's not even made by Free People. You could probably get something similar at one of those trashy mall stores for about 15 bucks. Skip this one.
