"This dress is GREAT! I got it and am SO SO happy I did. The fit is flattering - shocking given the horizontal stripes and super close fit of the dress. I ordered a size up based on other reviews about the sleeves being tight. Glad I did. I will say that if you have smallish arms, you wouldn't need to go up a size. A few notes on the overall appearance: On the black, the under layer is more flesh-colored, and not white as it appears online. Heh, I'm pale enough that my skin tone is an exact match, so the color is consistent on the body and arms which is nice. Also, I'm only 5'2" and the dress is as long on me as it is on the model. Not sure what's going on with that. I also didn't find the dress to fit as narrow on me as it appears on the model. That might be a function of having sized up. Frankly, I prefer the looser fit. Even on the rail thin model, you can see a lump where I assume her underwear waist band is. Overall though, HIGHLY recommended."

"This dress is gorgeous and very flattering. I ordered a medium after reading about the slim cut of the sleeves and I'm glad I did cause they are very narrow. They're fine in the medium, but I wouldn't have wanted them any tighter. The body of the dress fits fine, if a little loose at the waist. For reference, I'm 5' 9" 120 lbs, 34B. I'm going to wear it with clunky boots, to dress it down a bit, and maybe a short leather jacket. Love that it's lined through the body so I don't have to mess with a slip. Very comfortable! I took off a star because there is some lace trim around the neck and a 2 inch length of it isn't sewn down, so it stands up in an uneven clump around the neckline. I'm going to have to hand stitch it -- not a huge problem, but I'd rather have had it arrive without flaws. A small and worthwhile hassle, considering how cool this dress is!! Overall, I'm thrilled!!"

Awesome Dress! Ecru Color

"The dress arrived today (12/22) and is exactly the same as depicted in photos. I usually order size M, especially when something is form fitting, but it arrived as S and apparently I clicked on S because it was calling my name: BUY ME! BUY ME! LOL
It fit very tight the first time, but not so tight that it would fall to pieces. There was still quite a bit of "give" in the stretchy fabric. I'm 127 lbs/ 5'3" tall. I tried the dress on a few different times because I LOVE IT! and it seemed to fit better each time I tried it on. The length is the same on me as is shown in black. Which is AWESOME! because most of the dresses are so long, some appear to have a train when I try them on. LOL
It is common with my FP purchases to have to hem or do some kind of alteration from minor to major before I can wear the garment. But it's worth it to me! ! Luckily I can sew, knit and crochet otherwise I would miss out on FP.
After reading the reviews here about the sleeves, I carefully put the dress on, because it looks fragile (Material used, not workmanship). Then came the big letdown..... between the right elbow and wrist one of the solid (not lace) color pieces looked like it had been ripped/torn by whoever tried the dress on before FP shipped it to me. Someone hand sewed the 4 inch rip.
Personally, I think this sucks because I was planning on wearing this dress for Christmas and for the price, EVEN THE CURRENT PRICE of $189, an item in this condition should have never left FP to be resold without a "sold as is" disclaimer. A couple of orders ago something like this happened. with the peach/pink cape with fringe. It was purchased for a specific public event only to receive it the day before in worse shape than this dress. Even though CS sent a replacement quickly, it was too late. I ordered twice after that incident and all items in those orders were fine, so I put my trust in FP again and ordered this dress in ecru, and tracked the package to make sure it was going to arrive in time. It arrived today (12/22) so I knew I would be able to wear this beautiful ecru dress for a very special and important holiday for me.....Christmas.

Other than the torn fabric the dress is well constructed and the lining is sewn to accommodate a bit of stretch to make this a very body hugging dress and it's so comfortable.. The ecru dress is so BEAUTIFUL and the label says it was made in the USA! . ALL of my clothing purchases since July has been only FP from various dept stores and FP stores in person and online. That's how much I love FP..I hope we can resolve this ripped fabric fiasco, which will mean ANOTHER ALTERATION OR REPAIR to do myself. I would never rally for another clothing company or do minor to major alterations/repairs on so many items. The only reason I put up with all this is because I REALLY LIKE that no matter your age, you can always find something without having sn age "label" attached to the choices of what we choose to wear. Such as Juniors, "Women's" (to me BORING/ACT YOUR AGE), Casual, etc. Free People allows women who walk to their own drummer to show through. Thank you FP! ."

"iI have been looking for a long body con dress and this is just gorgeous, I didnt have any problems with the sleeves as some of the reviews implied , The dress is lined so you do not have to wear a slip which is great and falls well and the slits on the sides make it great to walk in as well as look at, Im in love with this dress, I got a medium, I am 5' 7 and weight 127 pounds."

"This dress was so comfortable to slip on. I didn't have issues with the sleeves like the other reviewers. The fabric is stretchy so you shouldn't have problems unless you're arms are very muscular. I am 5'4" 110lbs and ordered the xs. The dress fit me just like the model in the pic except it hit me above my ankles since I am not tall. I am glad this dress came with the slip underneath since FP fancies sheer items with no slip. Highly recommended for a night on the town, shopping trips, or just lounging. It's little pricey so I waited for it to go on sale."

Fun and Relaxing Dress

"Once again the horizontal strip thing comes through! This dress is surprisingly flattering. The body of the dress has a great weight and drape to it, and there are knee high slits up the sides which make it a bit more interesting and fun. I agree with the other reviewer that the sleeves are tight, but I think they will loosen up after a few wears. The color is just as pictured for the Ecru - a soft bone color that can be dressed up or down fairly easily. It's a lot of money for a casual maxi dress, but I think I'm going to get a lot of use from this piece. I wore it last night with the Jeffrey Campbell Buckle Back boots and the navy Snow Nymph Cape."
