i got this in the tea stain color, but mine has no purple in in at all. mine's all gray, black and ivory. it's still a pretty color combo, just not as pictured. the elastic band is not super tight, but it's not so loose the skirt would fall. i can see that sizing down would still fit, but i like the looser version so that i can wear it higher or lower as i want. since i'm short (5'3"), it's a bit long if i wear this at my natural waist. but i just pull it up more if i wear flats. the skirt is voluminous but not overwhelming. the material creates a nice drape. the flannel makes this even winter-appropriate. definitely one of my fav skirts.

Love this skirt-it totally works for petites too! I actually purchased this because of the reviews and it mysteriously fits just like on the model. Worn lowest possible on the hips it still clears the floor with my 2'' heels, just like the second image. i am 5'4 105 lbs for reference. Got the marigold and its just like the images, superdupersoft, a bit heavy but totally stays up. Now - i am teeny and the skirt is very roomy, an XXS would probably be ideal and i realize that it might not work with my life style. This is a skirt you will live in, its so fantabulous and comfortable so i know I would wear it a lot - the problem is I live on a 130 ft slope, and negotiate the many meandering steps to my art studio on top of our garden many many times a day... have you tried hurrying up stairs or down stairs in a loooong wide sweeping skirt while carrying stuff so there is no hand left to gather the skirt while a clumsy bigfooted 120 lbs dog happily trots behind you, accidentally stepping on the hem...or to climb out of a huge truck without getting a boot stuck inside the hem...mmm I LOVE this skirt and highly recommend if you can catch one, size down - do beware if you need to negotiate stairs or tall trucks a lot. Looks amazing with wrap biker boots like the JC scot boot, or johnny tall boot, a snug corset style top or a feather light peasant style tank

I'm 5'4" and this is not too long, although I wish I had sized down a size. Highly recommended. As pictured.

I love this skirt. I felt it ran a size big as well as feeling a bit heavy for the size of the elastic in the waistband, but it is still a dream come true. The plaid has more purple and grey in it than black and is super soft. It is extremely comfy and warm and gives a fantastic twirl ;) Once again the uniqueness and comfort are worth the money to me!!

It is always a problem finding things that fit, especially bottoms, when you are a petite. I purchased this skirt in an XSmall, fully expecting to have to either roll the waistband so it wouldn't be too long, hem the bottom, or else wear platforms to keep the hemline from dragging. To my surprise, this skirt, sitting at my natural waistline, is the perfect length to wear with flat boots! If I pull it down like the model in the studio shots, it is long enough to wear with heels. The fabric is substantially thick and cozy, not see through at all. The waistband is finished nicely and the elastic doesn't roll around. The tea stain is exactly as it is pictured. What a wonderful skirt to mix into my FP wardrobe this fall! If you are looking at an XSmall, here at the numbers for the one I received:
waist all around-relaxed: 25"
length: 39"

Love the skirt. Received it today and returned it for a smaller size. I received the medium which would normally be tight on the waist but when I tried this skirt on, it was falling off my waist.
