    Purchases made from 11/1/2014 through 12/24/2014 on freepeople.com and in Free People stores may be returned for credit towards the original form of payment through 1/31/2015. Items must be returned in original condition with attached price tickets and must be accompanied by the original store sales receipt or packing list with the order number. All other conditions of our Return Policy apply.

    Changed your mind? We’ll gladly accept unworn, unwashed, or defective merchandise purchased on freepeople.com for return or exchange.

    For returns received within 30 days of delivery, we’ll credit your original form of payment. If received after 30 days, a Free People gift card will be issued.

    Please note: If you paid with a gift card, a new gift card in the amount of the credit will be issued and mailed to you. If you paid with an e-gift card, a new e-gift card in the amount of the credit will be emailed directly to you.

    Even Exchanges: Ordered the wrong size or color? No worries! If you need the same item in a different size or color, we’ll waive the pre-paid SmartLabel® fee and the new shipping cost for domestic orders. In a hurry? Call us at 800-309-1500 to place your exchange.

    Uneven Exchanges: If you’d like to exchange your merchandise for a different item, the return pre-paid SmartLabel® fee and new shipping fees will apply.

    Please note: If you requested an item for exchange that we no longer have available, we’ll process a return instead. If this should happen, you’ll receive a return email to notify you about the return.

    How to Return MerchandiseBack to Top

    Follow the directions on the back of your packing list. Pack all items in a secure box or reuse the original packaging and enclose the packing list with your items.

    Using the pre-paid return SmartLabel®:

    Your packing list will include a pre-paid, pre-addressed return SmartLabel®. No postage is required. Please note: -$5.95 per returned package will be deducted from your return credit when using the SmartLabel®.

    Affix the SmartLabel® to the package, drop it in the mail, give it to your postal carrier, or take it to any authorized USPS facility.

    Your SmartLabel® is trackable. Please email or call customer service to check on the status of your return package. SmartLabel® can be used for all US addresses including APO/FPO addresses and US Territories.

    SmartLabel® can’t be used outside of the US or on oversized items. If located outside of the United States, please visit our international page.

    Using Your Own Shipping Method

    You can send items back to us at the address below using any trackable/insured shipping method. Sorry, we can’t accept COD returns.

    Store Return Policy

    Free People stores will gladly accept returns of items purchased from freepeople.com or from a Free People store. Items must be in original condition and must not to be worn, used, altered or washed.

    Items purchased in a Free People store must be returned to a Free People store. Items must include the attached Free People price tickets and be accompanied by the original store sales receipt.

    Your original form of payment will be refunded for items returned to a Free People store within 30 days of purchase. If returned after 30 days, a Free People merchandise credit card will be issued. Merchandise credit will also be issued for returns of beauty and personal care items accompanied by a store receipt within 30 days of purchase.

    Returns with a gift receipt will be exchanged or refunded for the value indicated on the gift receipt. Refunds will be made in the form of a merchandise credit card.

    Please note: Free People merchandise purchased at independent boutiques and department stores must be returned to the location where purchased. Please contact the individual boutique or store for their return policy.

    Please note: Online returns cannot be made to Free People stores in Japan at this time. If you need assistance returning your order, please contact us at service@freepeople.com.

    Price AdjustmentsBack to Top

    Freepeople.com and Catalog: Should an item on the website or catalog be marked down, please contact us within 14 days from the date of shipment for a one-time price adjustment. Contact us to request a price adjustment.

    Free People Stores: For store purchases, a one-time price adjustment will be granted when an original store sales receipt is presented within 14 days or purchase.

    Credits will be applied back to the original form of payment. If you paid with a gift card, a new gift card will be issued for the amount of the credit. If you paid with an e-gift card, a new e-gift card will be issued for the amount of the credit.

    We’re unable to offer price adjustments for temporary promotions or discounts. Promotions or discounts can’t be applied retroactively to orders placed before the promotion discount was activated.

    Please note: We’re unable to process price adjustments for merchandise purchased at our independent boutiques and department stores.

    Gift ReturnsBack to Top

    If you received a gift from our catalog or website, you may return it to our warehouse using the SmartLabel® or your own return shipping method. Follow the directions for gift returns on the back of the packing list. Once the return is received, a gift card will be issued for the amount of the return and mailed to the original shipping address.

    The original order number is required to process your gift return. Please contact us for this information if you don’t have it or give us a call at 800-309-1500. To help us locate the gift order, we’ll need the information below for the person who purchased the gift. We’ll provide you with a gift return form to enclose with your package.

    Please note: We’re unable to process returns at our warehouse for items purchased at a Free People store.

    Swim & Intimates ReturnsBack to Top

    We’re unable to process returns for swimwear or intimate apparel items that have been worn or are returned in a soiled condition. All intimate apparel must be returned in original condition, with original packaging and tags attached. All swimwear must be in new and unused condition with sanitary strips in place.

    Vintage Loves Return PolicyBack to Top

    Items from our Vintage Loves line cannot be returned. Please make your selections with care and carefully review all product information and sizing before making a purchase. Need help or have questions? Please contact us.

    Furniture ReturnsBack to Top

    Furniture may be returned for a refund or exchange within 30 days of delivery. Items must be returned in like-new condition with original packaging and materials. Customers are responsible for any return shipping costs. If after 30 days, we’ll replace or refund your purchase for manufacturer defects only.
