I have them in the white and the printed part really stands out, which is great. For me, they fit true to size. I'm normally a 25 or 26 and got these in a 25 and they fit great. I much prefer tighter shorts over looser shorts though, so if you like yours looser, I would probably size up. They are the perfect length. Not too long, not too short. However, I am only 4' 10". If you are quite tall, they are probably going to be ridiculously short, so you may want to size up. 3.5.2013

These shorts are my new favourites - comfy, bright and pretty - I've had tons of compliments on how cool they are. Better yet, because I sized up, they're not the "denim-diaper" style that's so popular these days, but is completely unflattering unless you're a supermodel (and even then...) Can't recommend these shorts enough, but be sure to go one size up for the sake of length (unless you're down with denim diapers). 2.2.2013

Rated 5 out of 5Â by moonglow Bright Fun Must Have Shorts I boutght these in the fiesta/denim color. The fiesta pattern just makes these shorts stand out. I tried them on in the store and I found them true to size. On the photo, the red pair does not show the distressed, cut out, ripped look of the shorts. This is very evident and not a problem, because the patterned pockets cover up the cut out "ripped" portion in the shorts. For me, the pockets are about 1 inch too long and detract from the shorts. But, these shorts are so cute, I had to have them. Anyone could shorten the pockets like I did. These are so unique, with the detailing of the banded waist and pockets. Rated 5 out of 5Â by cbags92 Run big! I love these shorts! The details are great and they are really well made. But they run large. I normally wear a 26, and I had to size down to a 25. They are a relaxed fit, so the 26 fit, but had a boyfriend fit to it, so to cancel that out I went a size down. The fabric is very soft and comfortable. They are amazing shorts that were impossible to get because they are sold out everywhere! 8.21.2012

I'm normally a 26 and decided to get a 27 to have a baggier look. When I tried them on, they were snug. I know they'll stretch out and I'm actually satisfied with how they look, but make sure you go a size up!!! 8.4.2012

The embroidered bits are more subtle than pictured, and the denim fiesta wash is a bit more grungy (i think) than pictured. Normally a 27 in free people, that's what i ordered and i agree with other reviewers they're a bit loose. I like them that way, tho, cause i'm going to wear them on my hips for some added coverage in the back. Doing this does give them that boyfriend-jeans look, and you get a bit of a low hanging zipper... but the inseam is too short for my taste if i wore them on my waist. I'm normally not even a shorts person, but so glad i got these cause they're unique and fun. They remind me of the grunge era in the 90s, but have a great boho twist.
