"Color is not as pictured. The ones I got were not black, but a light mottled gray. Also, I wear a size 6 in most shoes but these were a 1/2 size large. Despite that, I would have kept them if it weren't for the wonky stitching on one boot (left). The grommets were noticeably off kilter and there was a weird flap of extra leather on an interior section of the tongue that rubbed and wouldn't lay flat (creating a little lump). I'm guessing that's why this pair keeps coming in and out of inventory.
I did like how narrow they fit around the calf - I have 12" circumference and it's a chore trying to find knee-high boots that don't gape.
Bottom line, the quality just wasn't up to snuff. Check the stitching carefully!"

cute boot but ......

"this boot happens to be very cute, however it defintiely fits snug so order 1/2 size up. even when leather breaks in, that extra 1/2 size will maybe feel normal at that point. its a price boot! the workmanship and leather is of excellent quality. i hope someone else enjoys them bc i needed to return mne as they did not have 1/2 size up from a size 9. i just returned them today so anyone looking for a size 9, wait in about a couple of days bc mine will be coming back into inventory."

"I just got these in the mail, it took forever because they were backordered!! They went out of stock quickly online, so I'm extremely surprised at the lack of online reviews, because I know a lot of people must own them by now. They fit perfectly, I got my usual size, 7.5. GREAT QUALITY. I guess I didn't expect anything less for how much money I spent. I'm happy I have them, now I just have to get over the guilt of spending $400.00 on boots when it's holiday season and a lot of families (including my own) are having to do without abundance and luxury this year. I keep thinking about how far $400 would go to feed needy families, or buy toys for kids in orphanages, etc, etc. But I am so selfish and greedy and I need my Frye boots! I would say definitely get these if you have the money to spare!"

"I finally got my boots today!! I think I ordered them about 2 months ago, as soon as I laid eyes on them in the catalog. And they were worth the wait! I am in love, they are the perfect lace up boots. Frye shoes are the best. I got the brown in size 7 . They look just like the picture. They fit a little snug, but I'm okay with it because they will break in perfectly. Plus I'm wearing thick socks with them, so with thinner socks & tights they will be perfect. If you plan to wear thick socks, you may want to size up if you are between sizes. Frye shoes generally run the slightest bit small.
Best boots, ever. Worth every penny!"
