after reading the reviews, i was a bit hesitant to order but the sale price was too good to pass up. i ordered in the brown and while the shoe definitely wasn't as oiled to gritty perfection that you see in the picture, they are well made and are SO COMFY. plus you can tell the leather will have more than enough wear and tear with age. i can't imagine paying full price for them, as they feel a bit wide (and i have wide feet to begin with) but they are SO worth the sale price.

I went up half a size, and that seemed to be a good choice. These just arrived today in the brown. The brown is a flat almost suede, not the lovely oiled look of the photo, and the rose gold band literally looks like a cheap watch strap stretched around the ankle. Kinda weird. I had them on for 5 seconds and had already slipped due to the slick sole and tipped my heel a few times. Super unstable, these will need a grippy sole cobbled onto them. I couldn't tell in the pictures that the heel is actually narrow, more like a kitten heel than a substantial bum-kicking, city-tromping bootie platform that I was hoping for. I don't invest in boots so I can mince around like a prissy little girl! Free People, I love your website, but please show the bottoms of shoes in the thumbnail images so we have a better idea of what to expect. All that said, they are a cute shoe, just keep the caveats I mentioned in mind. If it wasn't for the silly heel I would probably keep them. Sigh.

I had my eye on these for six months! And I finally had the funds to be able to buy them, and when I received them they looked absolutely nothing like the picture. The gold chain is a red gold, which I read in a review, but didn't think it would be so distinct... It was. It looked terribly cheap. The shoe itself looked kind of like plastic. The heel wasn't steady at all, and unfortunately, I put them right back in the box and returned them. Not worth the investment.

I think these are pretty cute and run tts but I am passing on them because the color in the picture is a warmer more worn looking brown but they actually don't have any appearance of being worn in, and in my opinion look too stiff. Also, the gold chain is very much a rose gold as opposed the gold. I like the rose gold but in the picture online, it looks more gold to me. Cute boots, just not what I was looking for.
