Cute but not on me unfortunately

"When I first saw these last summer I knew I had to have them, they look amazing, right? So I ordered up my size 7, and even a 7.5 to see if that would fit different/better. But I had a problem first of all getting my foot into the shoe since the ankle strap is not stretchy at all. When I finally got my foot in, it didn't look very attractive because they seemed kinda narrow. My foot stuck out funny in the gaps between the straps. It didn't work for me! :("

"When I saw these shoes I had to have them. I really like these espadrilles especially because the straps aren't close to the ankle at all. The distance between the front straps and the ankle visually elongate the legs and then the narrow heels from a hind view serve the same purpose in the back. I don't have amazing legs, but my calves looked darn good in these!
The workmanship is excellent. There aren't any gaps between the rope and everything is held together very firmly. I ordered a size 9, my usual size and felt they were true to size.
The back strap isn't very tight as seen in the photos (there's some gapping around the ankle) but this did not affect the fit of the shoes and was very comfortable.
The only thing that caught me a little off guard is that the roping seemed a little darker to me in person than in the picture. Not enough to be a big deal though, just an FYI.
