I am in between sizes so I ordered both the 36 and 37 to try them on. If I chose to keep them I would have stuck with the 37. They are a bit snug in the calves, and if you want to wear them with thick socks, I suggest the bigger size if you are unsure.
I did not keep these because for the price the quality was lacking. They are Ahhh-mazing in style(I fell in love at first sight) - I wanted to keep them very much - but in my right mind, I will not pay $400 for a boot that is not known for its well made quality(like Frye's); and at this price, the little details Definitely Count. At this price point, I expect the straps to be real - as in, wrap all the way around even if they are stitched in, and the attachments that hold them should not feel flimsy and shoud feel totally secure. They didnt, and felt like they were coming off when I tugged on them gently. Also, although the laceup is authentic, meaning you can really lace them up, they are not completely accessible because of the stitched in straps. So basically these are not really meant to be laced up... again that faux detail quality that irks me. And most importantly... the leather looked and felt like it could pass for faux leather. Huge no-no in my book. If they are $400... the leather should be singing off of my legs. Not being shiny and smooth like pleather.
So all in all, too many faux details for a $400 boot = Not a good sign. I returned mine. I really wanted to like this boot, it had SO many things going for it, but it fell short where the important details mattered most.

I have to say, I was hesitant about buying these because they're the most expensive pair of shoes I've ever bought. However, I took the plunge and really could not be more happy. They're absolutely beautiful and I feel like the quality and workmanship evident in these boots certainly is worth the high price tag. I have super small feet (usually wear a 5-5.5) and the 36 fits perfectly. They seem a little snug in the calves when wearing them with jeans, but its nothing I can't fix by fussing with the laces. Highly recommend! I know I'll be wearing these a ton.

I read all the reviews before I purchased these and I have to say that the reviews are accurate. The brass accents are indeed very shiny gold but I don't have a problem doing a little diy to tone them down. The boots are true to size. I typically wear an 8 but I got an 8.5 because I was concerned about the shaft portion of the boot being tight as per the other reviews. I had to add a gel insole so now they fit perfectly as far as foot size (without the insole they were loose so I think an 8.5 is truly an 8.5). The shaft is indeed tight. I think I have probably average-ish size calves and it seriously took lots of tugging to get them zipped up the first time. But they stretched slightly as I pulled. And after the first time of wearing, they were much easier to zip and with each additional wearing they have been easier still. I've only had them for a couple of days so I can't really comment as to the quality and how they will hold up. I have a pair of Bed-Stu boots that I feel are probably better quality (thicker leather, wood heels, etc) but these feel pretty sturdy. It was a huge financial decision for me to get these boots but I looked high and low before I bought and didn't find another pair close to this gorgeous, distressed look. I love them and get tons of compliments on them. Delighted to have them.

These boots are unbelievably beautiful, so glad I got them. As the first reviewer noted, they are snug through the calves; not uncomfortably so, however. I got them in black, size 39, and they are closer to the lighter, almost brownish tones shown in the last 5 pictures (which I was hoping for). As a US size 8.5, the 39 fit well, maybe a tiny bit big, but barely noticeable when I'm walking in them.

I was SO EXCITED about these boots... in the picture they are fabulous. When they arrived, I was quite disappointed. First, the calves are very tight. My calves are muscular, but not too bad... I've NEVER had a problem fitting into boots. These were quite tight even after loosening the laces (which is very difficult because of the sewn on buckles). I could have overlooked this, though you could never wear thick boot socks with them or tuck in anything other than leggings. The killer for me was the buckles. They arrived broken, so I would had to have exchanged them anyway, but they are made so poorly. They are faux- permanently buckled, but the buckles are attached to the boot with a very tiny screw believe it or not. So walk a few steps and undoubtedly the tiny screws loosen and the buckles and straps fall down and dangle. They are very difficult to fix because the screw is so small. I knew that if I kept them this would be a constant frustration and I'd have swinging buckles most of the time. Not okay at this (or any) price point. Too bad because they are super cute. One note... the picture does not reflect the brightness of the buckles. They are very shiny BRASS. I'd hoped they were a bit more buffed, but they are a very, very loud brassy-gold. Just an FYI. Kind of cheapens them, in my opinion.

These boots are comfy and stylish. I feel like a rock goddess in them. As the other reviewers noted, they are snug in the calf area but you can adjust the height of the zipper in the back and the boots still look great if you wear them down a bit. However, the bolts that keep the decorative buckles in place keep coming loose. I've had to take them to the shoe repair twice already and for boots this pricey, it seems ludicrous. On the fence about keeping...

I saved up for these boots and I was beyond excited to finally get them! As others have stated they were a little snug in the calves, and I have pretty slender calves so thats saying something. but I figured I could just stretch them out by wearing them. After wearing them for a night I noticed quite a bit of pain on my achilles tendon. I zipped the boots down a little hoping that would relieve some pressure. The next morning I couldn't even walk. The boots were so tight on that part of my ankle that I haven't been able to wear anything but slip ons since that night because the pain is so bad. I tried wearing the boots again with the same problem. I am so beyond disappointed. These boots were an incredible waste of money and I don't think I'm ever going to be able to wear them again. I probably won't order shoes from free people ever again :(

First of all let me start by saying the style of these shoes are to die for! But DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. There is so much space at the toes you need to wear thick socks but there is no way you'll get the boot to zip up past your ankle with anything besides your bare legs and the boot its self⦠not only in the sizing terrible, after wearing the boots twice the very brights & shinny buckle on the bottom came off, after super glueing back onto the boot the top buckle on the opposite shoe came off. I should have returned them as soon as i tried them on but decided to keep them because i loved the style so much. after wearing them 4 times the boots wear non-returnable. DONT DO IT they'll just sit in your closet wasting space for a pair of really great boots.
