Rated 5 out of 5 by Can't wait until Spring I ordered these in the black in my what I thought was my usual size of 9 or 40. I find that the shoe size details sometimes on the Free People website can be confusing. So I went to a website (Zappos) that specializes mainly in shoes to see what their size charts recommend for a US 9 in Euro sizes and it said 40 so that's what I ordered. Fortunately that was a great idea because a 39 would have been way to small and my toes would have had no room. Anyway, I got to wear them around the house so far and they feel very comfortable. They look amazing on. The distressing is so cool! I know I'm going to get a lot of wear out of these babies when the weather get's nicer and they will go with everything like some of the kimonos that just came on the website and basically any of the slips and dresses you see on this website. I definitely recommend ordering a size up. 2.10.2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Whimsy that's Wearable I fell in love as soon as I saw these online. Thank you previous reviewers, for giving me the heads' up about sizing up. I generally wear a size 7 - 7 1/2 and ordered these in the 37 and 38 to be sure. The 37 had me feeling like the wicked step sisters from Cinderella...I couldn't stuff my foot in! Even the 38 is tighter than I am used to, but the leather is so soft that I believe, with repeated wearings, they'll stretch. And I do plan to wear them repeatedly! The brown hue is true to the photos on the web. The style is unique, feminine and flattering to the foot. I haven't debuted them outside the house yet (will the winter never end?) and they are VERY slippery on the bottom as a result. But one scratch on the pavement and they'll be street ready. 3.14.2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Super cute & Super small I got these in the cognac color which is a really nice color. I always take a size 8.5 in shoes or 39. For some reason free people shoes almost always run a whole size to small so I ordered these in a size 40 and they were a tiny bit to small. I have narrow skinny feet . I know If I went to size 41 they would be to big so I'm just not going to bother if you can get the right fit they are adorable! 2.7.2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by If I could only find the right one... I LOVE these shoes. I'm in between a size 8.5 and 9 and the 40 fit great. I got the cognac color and it's it's a little darker in person but i don't mind. The leather is nice and very soft, however I feel that the straps used to hold the shoe together may break after a while. Since I live in Miami, I'm also not sure how it would fair during rainy weather. I'm sooo frustrated because although I love the shoes, I had the same problem as the other two reviewers. The straps to tie the shoe up were way too short!! I decided to re-order them and I got the same problem AGAIN. The straps are so short that I can't tie them twice or else they come undone so I am only able to tie them once which totally defeats the purpose of the lace up design. I love the uniqueness of the shoe but the short straps make it difficult to wear. 9.27.2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by cute but impractical I bought these for my wedding which will be outdoors in September. The leather was a great texture and softness and the color was true to the photographs. However, when I put them on there wasn't a comfortable way to tie the straps without feeling something digging into the back of my ankle...maybe the straps, maybe the back of the shoe. Also, there are absolutely no treads on the bottom of the shoe, and while they are good quality, I am anxious about slipping all over the place while walking outside. They're reallly cute shoes, but I just wouldn't be able to wear them comfortably so I had to return them 8.1.2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by short straps Pondered over these for weeks, finally bought them at a local store, I had tried on a different pair and at the last minute decided on the brown ones. When I got them home I realized the straps were extremely short on the pair I purchased. They lost the effect I was going for really disappointed will be returning! 7.18.2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Beautiful Shoe, Strap Shortage The straps are waaay too short to wrap as many times as they do on FP's website, and my feet are narrow and my legs are thin. My shoes' straps wrap only once (see photo)- not the same effect at all. I contacted the company requesting longer straps and was told they were unable to accommodate me. Whaa?? Why? If I were able to get the same color straps from ANYONE but FP I wouldn't be asking, but I'd already looked. Instead FP sent me another pair of shoes. Maybe the first pair was defective. Nope. Same problem. Sigh. Am so disappointed. Seems like such an easy problem to remedy. 7.5.2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Pleased! ... Then Disappointed. About a month or 2 ago I made my first purchase from Free People. These flats were meant to be my go to Sunday shoe - something to wear to church then grandma's. Unfortunately, after about 7 uses, the shoes that I thought would ATLEAST last me the summer, literally came apart at the seam. It's quite upsetting. For $100 I really was expecting greater durability and longevity. However, the small length of time they did remain in tact, I loved these shoes. Not only because I received compliments every time I wore them but the leather is very soft and gives off a high quality look. The best thing was the design. I've always appreciated this look, which I could only ever find in sandals. The closed toe made the whole package perfect. So disappointed this happened. :( 7.1.2014
