Rated 5 out of 5 by adorable sandals Even though it's still crazy cold outside, when I saw these I couldn't resist them. I usually wear size 5 - 5.5 in flat shoes, and ordered the leopard print in size 36.I was concerned that they might be too big, but they're not. My toes don't come all the way to the end of the shoe, but they're close enough. I thought they were too loose until I realized that the straps adjust. They're very lightweight and comfortable. Because they're flatforms, they feel a bit odd to walk in at first because they don't bend, but I think making the straps nice and snug helps. They look kind of thick and clunky out of the box, but once you get them on your feet, they're adorable. And being petite, I appreciate the extra height. The leopard print is really cute and will go with pretty much anything. I'm going to the beach soon and can't wait to wear them! 1.17.2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Good price, but... So, i will start with sizing. I ordered these in 38 (normally wear a 7 1/2...left foot has a long toe that makes that foot a half size larger than my right) and the 38 fits just like a normal 7 1/2. If you're more interested in other details, read on! I was flabbergasted by the low price for these bad boys. Birks (style)? Cheetah? Platform? For 80 dollars?!? It seemed too good to be true! Well, it is...sort of. Believe me when I say these are definitely not the same as the beloved birks. They have nothing resembling a soft footbed, there is no bend at all in the sole, and the straps will literally rub your feet raw. How do I know this? It happened to me. I put the shoes on, stumbled the first few feet (due to the unflinchingly firm nature of the rigid platforms--but if you're used to platforms [as i am] then you'll figure out how to navigate that quickly enough) walked down the short hill to our downtown market, and had open sores on the tops of both my feet. I had to call on a friend to give me a ride home! And yet...two days later I got the nerve up to try again--these shoes are really flippin cute!--this time with band aids covering the open sores. Didn't get twenty feet before I had to turn around and change shoes. The pain is seriously exquisite. Today is my third foray into wearing the shoes, and I think I have a solution: thick socks! I wore a pair of thick, knitted socks and the tops of my feet barely ache. I also only nearly twisted my ankle once (compared to the three near misses the first time I wore them)! So, yes, there's still pain, but I'm not bleeding or crying and with shoes these cute, that's a sort of success. The moral of this tangential, terrible tale? Don't buy these shoes unless you are truly willing to suffer for fashion: you will lose skin, blood, possibly tendons, and perhaps self-respect (depending upon your views on socks with sandals). 6.2.2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Cool Sandals I take a 37 in Birkenstocks, so I got these in 37 as well. They JUST fit. Toes and heel right at the ends. A size 38 would probably be too big. I would think if you are between sizes, you'd be best off sizing up. 2.25.2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Paige platform footbed Sadly I had to send my new pair of black FP sandals back. It was hard, but if I wanted to save my torn up feet, I needed to NEVER put these on again. The fit was fine. The leather was so rough that it rubbed my upper feet raw after only a few minutes of wearing. I loosened them, I tightened them, I had my daughter try them and they did nothing but chew up my feet. After my first attempt I put them in my closet waiting for my feet to heal. Even after my sores were better, I was fearful of trying the sandals again. It's not worth having that much damage done to my feet just to be able to wear a cute sandal. The quality of the sandal otherwise seemed a bit cheap. I was surprised they came from Free People. Wait on these until they can buy softer, better, perhaps pricier leather! 6.22.2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by cute but not comfortable I have these in black, and they're super cute! Unfortunately they're not good for long walks. I wore them for about 15 min, and the top buckle began to dig into my skin so bad it bled. I needed to wear bandaids on the top of my feet in order to bear the pain. Also, I don't think the shoes are made very well, the sole of my left shoe has started to peel on the sides and back. I really wanted to love these shoes, but I guess I'll have to stick with real birkenstocks. Not worth the $. 5.3.2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Birko beauty These take the wonderful Birkenstock a bit higher on the style quotient. I got these in a size 39 and I am 8.5 in fact a bit smaller and they fit perfectly so I would say they are true to size. They are beautifully made and I got the tan ones which are truly depicted in the studio pics. I plan to get the black ones as well. A great summer staple. 2.3.2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by love 'em Love these. Very nice platforms. I disagree with the comfort issue. I find them very comfortable. Only thing prepared to twist your ankle a few times until you get used to them. 21 years of ballet...took them out of the box, put them straight on....ankle went right over! Had to laugh at myself. 9.23.2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Very nice ! Shoes are very nice but not suitable for long walks. Normally buys 39 European and size 39 FP is ideal. One shoe leather is hard and scraped my leg. 9.14.2014
