To be clear, I love Free People a lot, and I love having lighter pieces (especially in summer) to layer. That being said, this skirt was just too sheer of fabric. It is an odd piece to have so sheer, even as a beach cover-up. I wanted so badly to have as a go-to staple to dress up or down, but the fabric is NOT working. The cut is lovely, I just need an actual skirt....This is, sadly, a return.

This skirt/dress seems to be much more flattering as a skirt, but can definitely serve as both. The color to me is gray, there is hardly a hint of green, but I guess that's why they call it moss, eh... This is a simple piece that could be paired with just about anything.

I really liked the idea of having this skirt be my go-to on hot summer days, and it came SO close, but just won't cut it. The style is beautiful and flattering and the moss color is fabulous, but the material is just too thin. I have a casual dress code at work (hooray), so I was hoping to be able to wake up in the morning and just throw this on with a neutral tank. Sure, if you wear boy shorts underneath it you could get away with wearing it most places, but if you don't want to deal with the hassle of see-through fabric, I do not recommend this. That said, if I lived by a beach I would keep it in an instance, because it would make an adorable cover up!

It was very sheer, so definitely NOT as pictured. The material was thin and beautiful, easily wrinkled. I expected a little more, so my overall review is that it wasn't worth the money.

I expected this to be just a simple skirt/dress and it is, but man, is it oh-so flattering on! It's the perfect summer piece! I got it in both colors because, c'mon, look at it! And now I am very glad I did. The black looks better as a dress than the green, naturally because it's slimming, but they are both so beautiful, flowing, feminine and (with the elegantly ruffled slit) sexy! As a dress the slit does come up a bit high, so I do agree that shorts or something should be worn beneath or a long tunic, shirt or mini dress over it.

The black one was just delivered and though my first thought was to return it because it is SO thin and see through, once I put it on....it became a definite keeper!
As I said, it is very thin and sheer (hence the 4 stars instead of 5) but if you wear either nude or black underneath it is fine. I suggest little boy shorts as something on the smaller side will show off more than most would like, unless you are wearing it as a beach cover-up.
I love it wore high as a dress with a belt, just know that the slit comes up really high up the thigh, again, hence the need for boy shorts. I am 5'7", just so you know when it comes to height of slit. Anyone on the petite side would be fine, but the taller you are the more it may become a tunic verse dress.
I'm glad I got it, despite the price point vs the material....thinking I might need the sage now too! :)
