I was looking for a cotton, open-weave sweater like this for summer, but I didn't want it falling off my shoulders. To make it work, I bought an xs & tied up the back with a ribbon, creating a pretty open area. Like the sweater itself, the ribbon flows in the wind, and it gives the sweater a cool look. I get tons of compliments, and wear it all the time. Extremely comfortable, and beautiful color, but beware of snags (or be ready to always fix them). I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 only because it snags so easily & I had to alter it so it wouldn't fall off. But that was easily done and now I adore it!

Tried this on in Blue and purchased it. I got the M/L (I usually wear a Large), and it's definitely roomy...not so bad on the length side, but more on the width, it's very wide. You can't really tell in the pictures, but (at least in the Blue) there are little pieces colored string woven into the yarn. With wear throughout the day it might stretch and hang down even more, it seems like that kinda thing. But this is perfect to stroll around Venice Beach in with some cut-off shorts and a bikini underneath, it's really an awesome top!

I went into the store looking for the Laguna Coast Pullover but left the store with this sweater. The color I got was so beautiful. I got the neavy sweater and was so excited to wear it to a party later that day. I was thoroughly disappointed when I put it on and it fell right off. It's supposed to be oversized but it's huge! The neckline is WAY too big. This was my first purchase from Free People. Not impressed.

I don't understand the people who say that this is a bad purchase. Really? This sweater is actually absolutely amazing! it falls off the shoulder, runs low in the back but it never loses its cool :) I've had this beach beauty for a few weeks now and it is always the top I go for whenever the weather permits (I'm in LA so it's pretty often) :) Wore it recently to the beach with a bikini top and a long skirt. Super comfortable. Yeah, the sweater is large but this is how it's supposed to look. Beautiful.

This is one of my favorite purchases of the summer. Its a little bit big, but its adorable and can be worn in a million different ways. Also its not frumpy looking like other over sized sweaters, its just comfortable.

I seek out designs that drape. Often even order larger sizes to get the chic look I want. NEVER baggy with that "too large for me" look. Because this is so large, the very weight of the material causes it to bag and flop and droop -- it stretches itself out!!! This sweater is kinda like a long rectangle. You can pull it high on your neck and it comes to your waist in the front and below your butt in the back -- that's pretty cool and that is the way it stays on the best. If you pull it down in the front, it is waist length in the back. The way the sleeves are connected to the body of the sweater cause the sweater to look like it is too big for you - like you ordered the wrong size. The designer would have been better to give this sweater a dolman or a batwing sleeve. Then, it would not look like you purchased a too big sweater and you are trying to make it look chic and drapey. It is a great idea, I have two other sweaters that have his design (not Free People) and they are fabulous. This one missed the mark. I say "bravo" (and mean it) to those who purchsed this and it works for them....I am envious!!!! I am 5'6", 125LB, 36B and I ordered and XS/S.

This sweater rocks. Yes, it's huge and that's what makes it so much fun. I tried it on with a cap sleeve t shirt and had no slipping off the body problems. It DID fall off with a plain tank. This is, I suppose, intended to be like a 20 year old sweater.
I wore it with my Floral Fields pants and felt so comfortable I didn't care if I looked like a million dollar Boho or a two dollar hobo.
I'm 5'8" and this sweater is not too short for me. The sleeves are not too long either.
The optic white color has cool dark brown and warm dark yellow threads in it.
Just a really neat piece. I need to stay off this site before I go broke!

I love this sweater so much! Yes the neckline is huge but that's definitely the style. The yarn is so comfortable and I can't wait to wear this on a night at the beach! I was really hesitant about purchasing this because of the bad reviews, but I'm so happy I did. If you're a fan of beachy, effortless, and chill clothing, you will love this!
