Heyoka Leather was started by two best friends who began designing and creating custom leather pieces for models and musicians in Los Angeles in 2008. As the word got out and demand grew, they added another brought in another business partner and began to offer their handcrafted goods at select high-end boutiques. Everything in the collection is hand made by the designers, and they source their elk and deer hides from several different suppliers: searching out the best quality and most ethical hides available. Whenever possible they purchase directly from hunters and Native people who use every part of the animal. Also, they personally hand select every hide they work with, which is why Heyoka Leather's choice of leather is so exceptional. Heyoka Leather purchases their brass beads and other embellishments mainly from Native owned Trading Posts. Some of the more exotic African trade beads used are sourced from Ritual Adornments in Santa Fe.

INDIAN SUMMER !
7.19.2011-
"I loved this warrior necklace the moment I saw it, but was hesitant to order because of the price.I kept thinking about it, and slept on it for about a week. The thought of waiting to long and possibly having it sell out, finally got to me.So I just went for it, and ordered the brown one. WOW! It is awesome, smells good too. Mine is just as pictured, except the cords hanging from each end aren't as long. It looks more like the black warrior necklace pictures, which is fine with me.The turquoise stones are beautiful and the leather is soft, but strong. You can even pose the necklace to be wide, or make it more narrow. I was having fun laying out some of my tops and trying this necklace out with each of them.Looks great with so many things. What an accessory ! I love native American stuff -even though I'm a fair skin, blonde. Talked my husband into buying me the Spotted Eagle Necklace for my birthday, and I'm so loving both of these now. Can't wait to make this the coolest Indian summer ever!"

Warrior Princess!
7.12.2011-
"Being of Native American heritage and absolutely loving Native jewelry.. this one caught my eye instantly so I dropped a great big hint to my honey...got it for my birthday in the brown and wow!!..it is definitely an awesome work of art. I have been staking out my mailbox since he gave me the shipping receipt in a card and I was afraid it would look cheap and store bought but NOT so at all! I am just wowed at the way this piece looks and the craftsmanship and materials used do appear to be of top notch quality..I just can't wait to wear it now along with my bear claw. I would not have splurged on myself at this price but I must say you will not find this in any store and I doubt you would ever find something like this unless you're planning a trip to the mountains in NC where some of my ancestors make and sell their artful jewelry...and too be honest I still very seriously doubt you will find a bone vest or anything like one which is what this basically is..an artful female bone vest. Hard to find and if you do very expensive mostly due to the handing down of them from generation to generation and not for sale... This necklace is very substantial while not being too overpowering..perfect for my FP wardrobe and for making a proud statement of my Native American heritage...I think anyone could wear this and feel like a true warrior princess! FP you've outdone yourselves again..."
