"Bought the skirt in black and it is gorgeous and flattering. Love that it is such a great transitional piece between seasons as it looks great either bare-legged or with tights. I'm 5'6 and 135 lbs with a 28" measured waist and average hips. The small fit's perfect, and sits comfortably right at the waist. In terms of length, with bare feet it just barely brushes the floor. I could also wear a medium too, it would just sit a bit lower and be a bit swingier and longer."

"I unfortunately had to order in large cause the medium was sold out but I'm still glad I did. Its a little big but nothing I can't work with. I ordered in the ivory color and it's absolutely stunning. The quality is amazing, very well made. I have worn it with suede crop tank and belt and received so many compliments. Also wore with a long tank and the speckle ribbed pullover and it's absolutely adorable!! This skirt is a must have!"

"I bought the black colour in size medium. It fits perfect. I have 35" inseam and the length on me was right where it should be. The fabric is beautiful, I love the two-tone. I have no complaints about the skirt."

"I bought this in black, size XS, and wish I could get the antique as well but it's sold out. Not surprising, since this skirt is amazing. The detailing is much better in person. I was thrilled that the underskirt was long enough on me (I'm 5'10") and the length was perfect with flats or a slight heel."

"This skirt is too long. I had to wear 4" heels to keep it off the floor. Otherwise, the skirt is sweeping the floor picking up debris. And trying to pick it out ruins the fabric. The fabric is certainly beautiful and the photo does not do it justice at all. Of all the clothing I have worn from Free People, this garment had the most positive remarks. Men even asked me wear I bought this skirt. Really wished it wasn't so long, I'd wear it more and I'm 5'7.5 tall."

"I too, missed out on the Directions in Lace maxi last year, and was thrilled when I found this in-store! I think I might actually like it better than last year's version; this one feels softer to the touch and the attached mini-skirt is actually longer so I can wear it without anything else on underneath. I agree that you could probably size down if you wanted, but I went with my usual size for a more comfortable fit. It's too long for me at 5'4" and I wouldn't try to hem this beautiful lace, but I either roll the waistband down or just pull it up higher to make it work - it honestly looks great worn as a dress, too! I love how it floats when you twirl, and it's definitely a statement piece. Exactly my style!"

My FAVORITE skirt!

"I have been eyeing this skirt since in first came online. I missed our on last years "Directions In Lace Maxi Slip," so I was so happy to see FP bring back a similar skirt. I finally made it to the store and tried it on in the black color. Its BEAUTIFUL! I agree with other reviewers that the online pics don't do it justice. It is my favorite skirt I have ever owned, probably one of my most favorite items of clothing ever. It's one of those items of clothing that make you feel incredible when you wear it! I got an extra small, I have a 25" waist and 36" hips. I am 5'7'' and if I wear the skirt just below my belly button the ends just barely touch the floor. Highly recommend this skirt!"
