i am 5'6" and typically a medium in fp dresses but ordered a large after hearing that candela can run small. the large fit well, though having a considerably larger chest than the model (32 dd) this is very revealing. i feel more comfortable with a cotton slip underneath for day time, though a nude lace cami keeps it from looking trashy (and the hubs appreciates the occasional cleavage). i think if you're smaller chested, you won't have the same issues. i have this in the blush and it is a true pale pink.
this is SO DANG LOVELY. moccasins and a slouchy cardigan to the coffee shop? why not. moto boots and a denim jacket to the bar? absolutely. nude flats and delicate jewelry for a special occasion? yes! the first time i wore this dress, i got compliments from both women and men. the details are eye catching without being overwhelming. the cut is ultra feminine and flattering on every body type. i'll be wearing this during the holidays with gold jewelry and a messy braid crown!

Wowza. It might not look like it online, but this dress is simply special. A truly Victorian masterpiece. What makes it stand out is the full long dramatic skirt. Looks more full in person. Drags behind you dramatically and beautifully. The red is a deeper more rustier red in person. I'm 34-27-37 and surprisingly the Small fits perfectly (w/o a bra. There's enough coverage). The small waist made it a little difficult to pull over my head but I wouldn't go for a medium bc once the little struggle dance was over, the small fit my waist perfectly. At 5'7" it comes slightly past my feet w/o heels on. Totally thrilled. Feel so feminine.

This was not at all what I expected. I ordered it in Oxblood and IMO the color is a bit off...I agree with the reviewer who says it was more of a rusty orangey color. I'm a red head and this shade just doesn't do me any favors, plus it gives my skin a sallow cast. Further the fit is just strange. My bust-waist-hip is 37-26-36, I ordered this in a medium as I had concerns about it fitting up top. Unfortunately, the bosom area was too small for coverage while being too big for fit...the solid panels weren't large enough to cover my boobs while the bodice itself was too large and kept slipping around. And the length, holy cats is it LONG. Petite girls beware, I'm about 5'7 and it was literally dragging on the flood by a good six inches of fabric. Maybe if I were wearing spike heels or stacked platforms, *maybe* I could pull off the length. But other than the issues I had with the fit, I thought it was just sort of...boring. The fabric is nice, and it's well constructed enough and while I liked the little detailing on the sleeves it's a bland dress for the price. As much as I want this to work, bottom line is the fit and color just didn't work for me. I don't hold onto clothes if I have to talk myself into them, so back it goes.

I had passed on this beauty when I had the chance and then it sold out. It was a great sale price. I kept watch and finally it came back in my size. I snatched it up in the blush color.
I did not have high expectations. I was sure I had enough long maxi princess dresses. What would be so special about this one?
Everything, it turns out. The color is the softest sweetest pink. Just the barest tint of color. The fit is magnificent. I am a 32D with a 26 inch waist but with 38 inch hips. The small fit perfectly. With a nude bra, this dress is downright sexy. It shows skin at the waist, a hint of cleavage through the lace and the lace always shows your legs at the bottom.
Amazing dress. If it pops back in your size, scoop it up! I wish it came in a blue or green color, too!

First of all I am truly impressed how fast I received my beautiful maxi dress from Free People. You design and make available to us the most unique, beautiful dresses that when I slip one on....I feel as though I have travel back in time to the days when clothes makes a lady. The feminine, soft, flowing maxi styles just speaks romance, poetry & those black & white films.
This dress I bought in a small base on the reviews and the model measurement. The dress fit me so perfect. I am 34c bra size, 27 waist and my height is 5'5 and my weight is 113. The bust size is a bit big under the arm pit but looks just fine as is since empire waist is a perfect fit. The dress flows so beautifully with so much fabric towards the hem which enhance every figure very nicely. I choose the blush color and Im so glad I did. It's a very pale peach color that's nice against all skin tone. The length is much longer than my height but that's perfect to me because I wanted to wear the dress with platforms. I will wear this dress on Valentine's evening for my husband as we celebrate not only Valentine's but also it was on that special holiday that I got engage 16 years ago :)

This is a gorgeous, unique and well-made dress. I bought the oxblood colour, which is a little darker and more rust-red in person. The lace adds a nice effect, and it doesn't need a slip (at least not in this colour).
I'm 5'4", and it is a bit too long for me, but I expected that. I have a 32D chest with a 26 inch waist and the size Small is a good fit. Overall I love this dress! I first saw it on AHS Coven and it is glamorous and witchy, but casual and wearable at the same time.

I am in love with this dress! The moment I saw it on Free People I knew I had to have it, but I decided to wait a few months for it to go on sale. Waiting turned out to be a good idea, because while this dress is beautiful, it is not worth the non-sale price tag.
After much consideration I chose the blush color, which is a slightly darker pink in person. The pink is thankfully not flesh colored as I had feared and it is the perfect shade for my pale complexion. I imagine it would look even better on darker skin tones.
The dress is well made, but there were small bits of loose string/fabric that were peeling off as soon as I took it out of the bag. The lace sections of the dress also appear to be a little too fragile. My biggest problem is that the skirt is lined, but the top of the dress is not, so you would need to wear a slip or similar colored bra under. The problem may not be as bad for the Oxblood color.
The fit is very true to size. I went with the XS and it hugs my body in all the right ways without looking too baggy. It is slightly long, but i am 5'1, so I expected this.
For reference I am 5'1, 98 lbs, 34B.
