Jean-Pierre Roditi & Mattie Ilel are based in Los Angeles. They share a passion for authentic vintage textiles and Hill Tribe art. They roam the world together collecting vintage swatches as well as commissioning new embroideries by Hill Tribes that live in Northern Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Thailand.
The Yorika Hill Tribe Backpack is probably the most unusual Hill Tribe Bag that you have ever seen. The bag is made out of deconstructed Hmong embroidered clothing. The intricately embroidered pieces are put together as a deep backpack. The embroidered and cutout shapes are outlined with contrast hemp binding. The straps are made out of durable Buffalo leather. The length of the leather straps is adjustable. An authentic Arka ball decorates the prong closure. They are made in Thailand.
