If you guessed a magic wand, you wouldn’t be wrong...
Featuring Erin Lee Smith, impeccable makeup artist, nurturing mom and partner, and dear friend to FP.
If there’s one piece of makeup advice you need to hear today, it’s this:
Echo your vibe with your makeup.
“Fresh skin is always my focus, followed by a nice highlight, eye definition and some color in my lips and cheeks,” says Erin Lee Smith, an Austin-based makeup artist who’s influenced by a very keen eye and well-nourished soul.
No matter the where’s, when’s and why’s, a fresh face is always worthy of your time. And, according to Erin, anything that Jillian Dempsey creates makes for a high-performing, effortless win.
Jillian Dempsey’s collection is exactly what you might want in an everyday product -- organic, cruelty-free, perfectly edited, “finger-friendly” (for easy application), and vetted by pretty much any celebrity you can think of. And then, there’s her pièce de résistance -- the 24K Gold Sculpting Bar, designed in Japan, which helps to lift and tone the face thanks to over 6000 vibrations per minute.
Are you ready for a fresher new you?
Here are 4 easy steps on perfecting your fresh face, courtesy of Erin and JD:
Step 1: Face Prep -- Gold Sculpting Bar and Eye Mask.
The Gold Bar contours, sculpts, and de-puffs my face in tandem with the Hydrating Eye Mask which works on my fine lines and wrinkles.
Step 2: Define Upper Lash Line -- Khol Eyeliner in Deep Burgundy.
I like to use the sponge on the other end of the pencil to smudge lightly for a softer look.
The burgundy picks up the green tones in my eyes which I really love. I also love that this formula is easy to blend and is waterproof. Once you have your look set you don't have to worry about it traveling down your face.
Step 3: Highlight Lids and Cheekbones -- Lid Tint in Peach.
I love this subtle eye sheen, it makes everything a little sexier and a little glowy without dealing with shimmer or pigment. Super easy to use!
Step 4: Flush -- Cheek Tint in Rosy.
I am obsessed with this color. The blend of coconut and shea butters make the formula smooth and creamy and actually packs a good amount of pigment.
I apply it first on my lips and then use the remaining color on my fingers to add a light flush to my cheeks.
This packaging of the cheek and lid tint are so easy. I just toss them in my bag and use them to touch up when needed.
