Beautiful skirt, WAY overpriced
I ordered this in the sienna, size S (I'm a size 4-6 normally, usually a FP S or M depending on the cut.) The fit is perfect- that said, I am 5ft 3, so taller women may have an issue with the length. The material is soft and not as heavy as it looks in the pictures, which should actually allow it to be an all-season piece- I could see layering it over some heavy tights in the winter and wearing it with sandals and a tank top in the summer. I must say, though, the price is about TWICE what it should be. I almost sent it back on principle. I've decided to keep it because I don't mind splurging once in a while and because IF it holds up it should be a pretty versatile piece, but right now that's looking like a pretty huge IF.
Expensive but I love it
I read the reviews about the quality vs. price, but I loved the look so much I decided to get it. Yes, it's expensive, but I love it. Maybe I was prepared for the thinner material because of reading others' reviews, but the drape is great and it is just as pictured. I gave it a "runs" small, because I am usually swimming in a Free People S, and this one fits. It's a little loose, but I like that. I am 5"5 and 110 lbs. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the price, but they are selling out of it, so I guess it's priced correctly!
Not what I expected..or described...but I love it
I have 3 other C.P. Shades linen skirts (two from Free People) This 'FATIGUE' skirt is described as Linen. It is 100% cotton. When I opened it and put it on it felt like it had a different 'hand' then my other linen skirts and it felt warmer. This morning I looked at the label and it clearly stated 100% cotton. It has a wonderful tattersall plaid on the reverse side of navy with the olive green of the plaid side. It made me wish it was reversible. Despite thinking I was buying a linen skirt I love the drape and the extra warmth of this skirt. I am 5' 3" and wear a size 4 to 6 and the small fits perfectly.
Great Skirt - Way too much money
I would think that I'd be getting a thick, wonderful quality skirt for the amount I paid. The material is so thin (and stiff) it should be easily half the price if not less. It's borderline see-through as well. Can't decide if I should return - love the colors (got fatigue and sienna - sienna is not quite as black and red as it looks online - not as much contrast - the black is a bit more faded)
great skirt, overpriced
I just ordered this skirt in the fatigue color; the material is quite thin, but feels more like a thin cotton, not linen. When I put it on, I must say, I was impressed that the length wasn't so unbelievably long as is true of other FP maxi skirts. So, it won't need any altering. However, for a cotton maxi skirt, while pretty and stylish, it is way overpriced. This skirt shouldn't have been any more than $128; I don't know how or why it is worth $228. That said, I am still on the fence about returning it, given this color is almost sold out. Please lower your prices, FP! It's a great piece, but could easily sell for a lot less.
Just like the picture
I got this in the mail yesterday and I must say, it looks exactly like the picture. the description notes that the skirt is 100% cotton, but that can be a bit deceiving. Since it was cotton and not cheap at all, I assumed it would be a thicker skirt for fall--not so. It is 100% Linen - and very thin. You can see through this. I am on the fence about whether or not to send it back. I love the way it hangs and as I said before the color is great--but can you wear linen in the fall? For the price I expected something more substantial. I usually wear a small in the FP elastic waist skirts, but for some reason ordered the medium. I am glad I did, it fits really well. I am not sure if it runs small, since you can never tell, but I am 5'6 -140 pounds with a 28 inch waist.
